So do I many times. In Fallout 3 my character was a female, but in FNV he is male.
In Skyrim I've used both sexes and in DAI I play a female again.

I tend to vary as much as I can.

Purely depends on the role I wish to play, like now I'm currently playing as a Great Khan girl who likes her buckshot and sneak, then I have a goofy clone playthrough, which is by far some of the most fun I've had in some time on New Vegas

It really just depends on the type playthrough I'm doing but I still tend to use males. If i used 3rd person more I suppose I'd be more inclined to use females.

I mostly play male but every once in a while I get bored and start a female character. It also depends on the mods I currently have installed.

Usually Male since most mods are made for Male characters and well I guess because I am a male myself haha. But sometimes I'll randomly switch to female.

I always play a male because i always make my characters as close to me as possible and will always play myself in any game where you can create your own character

I make my Character mostly Male in RPGs because I skill most on Strength and i think Males just fit better for that....

Male , just because I like to get close to myself as I can in whatever rpg game i may be playing , rather it be a choose your own story rpg hybrid that has only text or a game as big and graphical eye candy as Skyrim.

female character for all the games i play. they tend to be better than male like more agile, little faster, smaller hitbox. better looking armors.

It seems a lot of people choose the gender because they want to watch a virtual character of the opposite sex...I'm gonna be honest it seems a bit weird choosing a gender just so you can 'admire' their assets. I choose male simply because I am male and I like to get into the story as if it was me in that characters shoes, although this is changes when I'm playing a fixed character

I typically play a female character if available. Many of the animations for the male characters look like drunk orangutans are strolling across the screen whereas most (not all) of the female animations look a bit more "refined". When playing in third person view I would also much rather watch a females backside than a males.... Not to mention the armors are usually nicer...

Male, female, doesn't matter to me. I usually just randomize and go with whatever the result is.

I play male because i'm a male irl and so I can connect with my character and actaully feel like i'm the character in the game.

I often choose male when i play, but that choice seems to changeto female quite often aswell.

I choose male allot. Mostly because I like to get in the shoes of the character and I'm a male so yeah

I play as male simply because I am male. I have never been compelled to play as female, although I don't see a reason not to.
