Yesterday the Star Wars Rebels youtube channel released the final duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul, now only known as Maul. We all knew from the beginning that Obi-Wan would eventually win the duel because he obviously is in A New Hope. I personally feel that the killed Maul off in a not so climactic way. The verbal exchange they had before and after the fight was however very interesting, now what did you guys think about the duel. Did you like it, or dislike it?

I liked it, I think Maul wanted to die in the end, maybe he accepted in the end,it was what he really wanted, closure of what happened on Naboo. You saw how good a fighter he was he wanted to lose and let go of everything finally.

I honestly expected A LOT more regarding the battle, the ending conversation was interesting though

Obi Wan was a master at Form III Soresu, and while Maul was filled with the longing hatred and anger, he had long been waiting and expecting Maul's arrival even without Erza's warning. And we must also not forget that George Lucas based the lightsabre forms on the Way of the Warrior, each duel between real Samurai Warriors would have lasted seconds instead of minutes unless the opponent was a great fighter. But at the end, Maul attacked with so much rage that he forgot of his surroundings which made Obi Wan take the killing blow with just two strikes.

This was amazing, I just had to come back and see if anyone was discussing it. It felt incredibly cathartic, and was a great 'final' moment of physical mastery for Obi-Wan before the spiritual one in ANH.

Yes, Qui gon jinns battle stance is made for open area that is why he lost. It was a good conclusion to a fight that was started long ago. Heh old man fight

I really liked it, I think it was a perfect end for maul because he realized that the sith are his true enemy, and I thought Kenobi changing his stance was awsome and a good touch.
