Personally, no. Elder Scrolls Online is fun and all, I guess, but modding is almost half of what Fallout is about, and putting it online would limit that.

Gameplay wise, apart from those points made earlier, it would really take a lot of the fun out of the world, like those people who sit in one spot waiting for enemies to spawn. Then, of course, VATS would be quite hard to implement.

Besides, the developer would probably want to get cash out of it, like ESO.

I think he meant a Fallout game with single player and multiplayer mode as well, not just online like ESO. But I think that'd be a waste of effort and money and they have tried to do one before but it is cancelled (you can wiki it for more info).

Well in the terms of what you suggested alonewolf, I wouldn't mind that all.

I personally think something like LAN would be a good idea. But thats kinda old. I don't think fallout should be online at all. Something about its single player experience just draws you in... I can't even imagine what it would be like if we went online :stabby:

I much rather have a solid single-player mode than have time devoted to trying to make multiplayer work which then makes the singleplayer experience suffer. Not every single player game needs multiplayer... Enough multiplayer games as it is.

Maybe if they made a seperate game like Borderlands it might work, but not sure I'd want to play something like that on the Gamebryo/Creation Engine.

Only if its a co-op kind of online where you and a group of friends maybe up to 4 - 8? can play together in your own world and somehow mods are supported, other wise no i rather keep it single player.

I think fallout 4 should have an online experience, don't you get kind of bored playing alone I think if multiplayer is introduced we will have a fresh look at things.

I personally hope for a private co-op type of thing by invitation only, always online with people invading your game would terrible i personally think. Unless your give the option of turning it off.

To be honest Fallout 4 should be single player again. One strategy that i loved about New Vegas and Fallout 3 was that there was karma and reputation effects with the companions. This actually defined the choices the player had to make and it wouldn't be as it was if there were multiplayer.

I think they should make a seperate Fallout game for online like Elder Scrolls Online. It could be difficult with the custom content for example :/

Only thing I would like to see would be Co-Op mode but other then that. No. No. NO. 

Just No for any series made by bethesda. Although skimming through other's comments, I have to agree that modding will become difficult and therefore online-mode will be pointless. Modding community that are born from TES and FO series are just breath-of-fresh air to certain point but breath-taking due to the incredibly talented individuals and minds that come together for funs.

If it has any online play I would want co-op only because any other kind of multiplayer would just take away from the base game which is what most fallout fans are there for anyway.

A co-op Fallout would be amazing, sync people's quest logs and phased progress like any MMO so people can have fun together clearing out vaults and just having fun!

Fallout with Co-op will always peek my interest because even Post-apocalypse can be a bit lonely at times. Having another genius/heroic character wandering alongside me will be fun. However, I like many voices in here, agree we should keep Fallout or TES from the Online mode due to the fact that modding is already difficult as it is and trying to create a balance between two games will be rather difficult. Although the old fashion co-op mode of side by side game play wouldn't be so bad.

I'd have to say no, The idea is cool and I'd love to be able to travel the waste with a friend. But I feel like it would greatly limit pc players. Not everyone uses and prefers the same mods so you'd have to make everything compatible with each other which would be almost impossible. I feel like it would limit a lot of modding. On the other hand I think maybe a separate mode could have Co-op like maybe just the vanilla game with some side quest? I just don't see it happening nor do I think it would work. Welp theres my 2 cents have a good night guys.

For me Fallout is a solitary experience, but a co op mode could work maybe. I would prefer if they just keep it single player instead of dividing resources and time on another game mode, it's likely the overall quality would not be as high as it could be.

Perhaps a co-op or sandbox mode like gta5, but i would say no to having co-op to the main story.

Unless the modding is still allowed its a no go for me on multiplayer. Not to mention the $60 purchase, $15 a mo, and micro transactions way to expensive with hideous graphics to even consider elder scrolls online...

Like some others have said, I would only tolerate co-op. I think 2 player coop would be most fitting since it is about an apocalyptic wasteland, so 4 player co-op would kinda diminish the harshness of the environment. It'll still be possible too considering we already have mods for coop games. So it shows it's possible. Like left 4 dead and gmod for example. But if it doesn't in the end I wouldn't mind.
