I have a very bad feeling about this...I'm feeling another Mass Effect Andromeda situation coming where they rush out a game that's gonna ruin a series. We let FO4 go with the voiced player and one path driven story, but if they botch this up..I think it's over for Fallout.

Why create an online multiplayer Fallout game that goes against the traditional genre of the series right after you create a game considered poor by many fans?

In other words, why experiment even further when your last experiment was an abomination?

Can’t Beth put two and two together? Can’t they see people want a traditional RPG like 3 and New Vegas?

Whatever they say, a multiplayer Fallout isn’t a Fallout game and isn’t what I love in the series. I even didn’t even dislike Fallout 4 that much, but a multiplayer game is a bad decision to take with the franchise. It isn’t what we play the game for.

If the rumours are true, I just hope Starfield proves more interesting than this. Severely disappointed by this.

I think Bethesda answer the rumors, it will not be a MMO but it'll still have some sort of online elements so a lot of people, including myself that it will be a coop.

as long as the online element i coop then im happy, that would be a cool addition to the series. i should not limit mod capabilities and it would retain its singleplayer experience

Anyone have any input on whether or not external mods will be a part of 76 or if they really are pushing in favor of CC mods only?

Maybe I missed it, but I don't think I've seen anyone say "I hope it's an mmo." Fallout fans have typically not been asking for that.

Supposedly it's supposed to be something like Rust or Ark. I don't see what would be so hard about just remastering Vegas and 3 on the new engines. I have a feeling it's just going to be mediocre. Kind of like how Fallout tactics was. Supposedly and just a rumor that mods will only be through creation Club.

I really hate making speculations. I'm really hoping for a traditional singleplayer experience, but I wouldn't mind multiplayer as long as it isn't the only thing or forced on us.

E3 is right around the corner, I'm going to wait until then. But I find it very interesting it's only been 3 years since 4 was announced and released, I didn't expect a new Fallout this early, regardless of what type of game it might be.

I heard theres a leak that its going to have coop. Besides that and having Chris Avellone, im not too excited since theres probably going to be a Voice Protag (this looks like FO4 engine so itll be a spinoff with the same dialouge system). Also there are other bad rumor's ive been hearing related to forced creation club. Also Bethesda (BGS only) has disappointed me with their ports (FO4 VR, Skyrim "Remastered", Skyrim for Switch, FO4 itself, etc..."

Having mods come through Creation Club is a bad thing, sure it helps the whole multiplayer thing in a sort of unified experience but general free and open modding is what keeps Fallout and other games alive for years on end. Puting them behind paywalls only makes them look greedy, sure modders get monetary support but if I remember correctly modders got paid on a fixed amount meaning that the total profit of the mod can exceed the fixed amount. It could also potentially block off "essential mods" i.e unofficial patch,reworked textures,gameplay fixes,etc which would be a dick move.

In spite of all of that, I'm still excited for what they'll show at E3 because I'm interested in the idea of a Fallout coop game I just hope they won't fuck this up like Fo4 because that game was saved(at least for me) was the mods but now it looks like they're fucking that up too.

A co-op as an optional experience is fine, if it doesn't detract too many resources from producing the single player game. People often don't remember, but Baldur's gate had a co-op mode even though it was primarily known as a single player game, perhaps one that started Bioware on its Golden Age.
I don't think anyone was enraged that Baldur's Gate had a co-op option. They just often ignored it from what I could tell back then.
But yeah, once in a while I wish I could invite another player over to look at a settlement design I'm particularly fond of. You can transfer settlements, but that's not the same thing. There were a few missions where I wouldn't have minded the option for a friend to drop in and assist.
So co-op is not evil, necessarily.
But if they turn Fallout into an MMO, or a fallout-skinned version of a free-for all open world battle-royale, I'll be pissed off for sure and finally give up on Bethesda (Previously I didn't hate 3 and 4 as much as some.) I think their character writing is improving -- compare Piper to Paladin Star or whatever her name was. But an MMO will turn back all that good will I was trying to give them.

I liked base-building (I admit, I always wanted a more violent, "survival-oriented" serious version of the Sims anyway), I just think they need to tinker with it a little more. But I don't want other players sacking my settlements while I'm logged off, forever finding out that some super clan wrecks my "work of art" settlements every night.

I reeeally hope it isnt a MMO from ESO I have no hope for a Bethesda MMO.

from what i been seeing, fallout 76 is the online survival rpg, and honestly, i like the idea, get to play with friends online in a fallout game, but on the other hand, it wont have mod support other than the creation club. I just hope they don't follow all the other mmo's, like they did with elder scrolls online, yeah it looks like a elder scrolls game but plays like all other mmo's out there with there features as well. We will just have to wait and see at e3 this month, when they show the game off.

@"ahyuser001" From the pre-orders i have seen, its around £60. Though i do hope they dont cut out modders like that, i mean they know how big it is for their platform, and even added some mods that people made for NV into Fallout 4

If Fallout 76 is truly CC mods only then I'll be skipping that Fallout and any Bethesda game that follows suit with such a tactic.

Let's not hit the panic button just yet in theses days approaching e3 there will be rumors aplenty, at the very least we should take them as a sign to temper our expectations that 76 might not be the game we thought it might be from the teaser.

For now its best to just wait and see till June 10th...

Although it is pretty damn scummy of Bethesda to be putting up pre-orders now when people aren't even sure what kind of game they might be getting.
