same as @Dmitri2033, i use merged plugins. sometimes i do it manually using xEdit, for example certain patch which overrides a few master's records, i simply copy all the records to the master and then i can uninstall/deactivate the patch.

sorry for double commenting because i think multi-quote isn't working for me :\
anyway, merged plugin is best used for standalone mods -- which doesn't depend on any other plugins except for the original game's base and dlc plugins. but if you want to merge 2 plugins -- say one is the master, the other one contains value which will override some master's record (i'll call it as a patch), it is suggested to inspect via xEdit first. if some records are to be overridden into null by the patch, then i believe you should not merge it, instead you'll need to do it manually.

for the sake of reasoning, say i have a settler overhaul mod, then i have a patch provided by the mod to set all settlers to female only (no male settlers), which means that:
1. the patch will contain no male records and only have female records
2. the male records in the master esp will be overridden by the patch esp into null because it has no male records

if you merge both these two together...it would be identical to the master esp, allowing both male and female, therefore your patch merged into it will not work at all.

I got about 80 mods for FNV, most of them being armor or weapon mods from some of our best mod authors.

I'm trying to fit as many mods as possible into the game, merging what I can... skirting under the 130 limit, but it's tough.

For FO4 like 239 active plugins. Almost 500 total

Skyrim i had like between 100-200

NV i was right at the plugin limit.

Im too lazy to merge plugins. My games are bugfests usually already

On FO4 I have 135 active and 300 downloaded. Alot of them are probably outdated to be honest.

There are currently about 300 mods on my FO4 setup of which several are textures and quite a few are F4SE files. As for individual .esp/.esm files (including base game and official dlc's), I've got 244.. There are another 57 .esl files.

For the most part its pretty stable. I do get into trouble (CTDs) when I hit 96 or so Sim Settlement plots but other than that its not bad...

On Fallout NV, I have 205 mods installed, most of them merged with the Merge Plugins utility, thing is a life saver.

Currently for fallout 4 167 plugins, a few esl plugins, 220~230 total mods installed. I reckon I will have to merge soon. >..<

Fallout 3, I got 57 plugins plus FO3LODGen mod

Fallout New Vegas, 75 plugins plus FNVLOGGen mod

Fallout 4, 60 plugins. Mostly just armors and guns. Not much change to gameplay.

I just broke 100 mods the other day in Fallout 4. I suspect there are quite a few I can uninstall that aren’t in use but I’d rather not rock the boat given that I’ve had no CTD issues with my current load.
