New update is officially out. Check out the changelog here. I didn't see a post about it so I figured I'd make one. So far no issues with broken mods or CTDs for me personally, but some people are saying on nexus and steam they're getting either/or.

Yep, this update totally broke my game. CTD when trying to load old saves and start a new game, and uninstalling every single one of my mods just made it crash on startup. Everything up to date, including the script extender.

Having to reinstall. Again.

The script extender is for the 1.3 beta.

As far as I understand it, the one for the beta is fine for the full patch release. Worked that way for 1.2.

Everything seems to be working fine. No problems at all.

By the way, F4SE has already been updated for version 1.3.47 .

Can anyone say what fps loss you get from hbao+ and weapon debris?

So I found out what was causing my crashes. It was a mod that turns the colour of laser beams white.



I mean, sometimes I think that this stuff is literally sorcery. Like there's a family of leprechauns living in the airducts at Bethesda just cutting totally random wires and farting out confetti whilst laughing. What a stupid amount of time I wasted over such a trivial mod.

I'm going to spend some time away from my computer giving myself a concussion with facepalms now.

Edit: Here's a video I found of the weapon debris stuff in action, for anyone interested in what it actually looks like. Can't attest to the performance hit yet, though.

Wow. It's not a whole lot, but it's definitely a start with nVidia. What I wish Bethesda would do would be to add PhysX Turbulence to the laser weapons. For example;



...Perhaps Warframe has spoiled me a bit, but seriously. Particles flying all over the place as the poor fools of the wasteland disintegrate into oblivion.

Oh, and the debris is awesome. I'm using medium and it's not causing any frame dips for me.

Is the current update more reliable than the beta one?

I don't think so IMHO... perks of expensive video cards. ORRR pull a Warframe and add a custom variant. Hell, we get to enjoy the beauty of PhysX, but everyone for example shares this thing they call "flow" which basically mimics the particles of nVidia, but they're in preset directions (IE: no weight to the particles).

Do that, and I think Bethesda could have something.

@Legend: Not at all: people are complaining that Nvidia Gameworks is in it: adding even more Nvidia-exclusive features will pull people off the wrong way. This isn't a perk of expensive video cards: this is a perk for Nvidia. And this is coming from someone who's gone Nvidia their entire life.

@BITBUT: FO3 was fairly bug-free for me before the current patch, but this one fixes some nitpicks such as slow loading and laggy weapon switching.
