need a little help

hello everyone, i just wanted to install a silenced shotgun mod but it doesnt matter where i put the meshes and textures i always have a big red exclamation mark. i even tried to rename the folders but still nothing.

I believe what Yeezus is suggesting is that you deactive the mod and then reactivate it on the mod manager.

Hey man, sorry I couldn't fix it for you. I've had the same problem with some other mods and toggling AI on and off fixed it for me. I hope someone here can help you out a bit more.

Just by looking at how the mod files are set up, it will never install properly or work correctly. What you'll need to do is open up the files and rename some folders. "Meshes huntshsil" likely needs to be renamed to "meshes" and "Texture huntshsil" should probably become "Textures". The mod archive is setup improperly.

Make those changes, repackage it, and see what happens.

i dropped the files into data/textures/textures, and did the same for meshes, but no screw you nicolas. i tried to rename the folders to huntshsil and simply textures or meshes i even tried to drop the files just to data/texture or meshes folder. the damn macheroni eat author should have called this invisible shotgun silenced, doesnt matter what i do if i attach the silencer im always holding my big invisible dick.

Without downloading the mod myself, the best suggestion I can give is to open the mod in FNVEdit or the GECK and check to see what the specified path for the model is and put the models [.nif files] in the specified location. The textures would likely go in a similar path, but for Textures instead of Meshes of course. However, to find out for sure, you would need to open the model in Nifskope and see what texture paths are specified.

This might sound like a dumb question but... The most appropriate place to ask for help with this mod would be on the mod's own forum. Why have you not asked there, where the mod author can respond?

I actually suggested the mod forum, not contacting him privately. Using the mod's forum also opens the possibility of getting a response from a fan of the mod or someone else who might have already dealt with the same issue before. It's not unheard of for an author to upload a mod without intending to update or support it or just losing interest and moving on to other things.

You could just do the mod yourself simple. Just get nifscope take a suppressor you like from another gun and added it onto your shotgun by copy branch, past branch and your done. Also take the suppressed fire sound effect in the geck and add it to your gun to give it the suppressed effect.
