@DVAted I'd be happy with black text, or even something in the middle, like dark grey text, as someone who has very light sensitive eyes and can have trouble reading, the site is mostly okay though it's sometimes hard to see the coloured usernames, like the purple and blue ones. Generally good stuff though. Big fan.

Few years ago, I had a website with some friends, using vBulletin and we had the same problems. You'll have to find a good compromise between the text colour and the "postbit" background colour. If the BG is clear, the text must be black or very dark blue, on the contrary, if the BG is dark, the text must be clear. In most cases, BG medium colours are the best for the eyes, on the extreme, Black BG + white text are too contrasted and the opposite isn't better. Thank you for asking

For people who feel some pain with light colors use Dark Mode extension for Firefox. It adds a Toolbar button serves as an ON|OFF switch which enables you to easily and quickly turn the extension ON or OFF.
