I personally use Mod Organizer. Really great for keeping files out of your game and keeping it clean.

What do you people use? I assume some do manual.

I still use NMM and FOMM at the same time. I use NMM to install mods and FOMM to browse mods with .bsa files to check if there's something inside that I can use for personalized mods.

Manual installation for nearly everything. For some mods I use NMM.

I get it using a mod manager/installer is simpler but when I install manually I'm 100% sure that it installed properly.

Mod Organizer. With its virtual data folder it makes easier to customize your load order. I remember manually installing mods with Morrowwind and I remember how much of a pain in the ass it was to uninstall mods.

Mod Organizer. I suck at doing manual installation, and also i can just remove any conflicting file by ticking the tickbox.Not to mention, the file reordering too. Just chug everything and deal with the load order later on.

Nexus Mod Manager, it is perhaps a little simple but it works well.

Installing mods manually is like raw-dogging a dive bar pickup. I don't recommend it. It will save you the hassle of having to reinstall and start fresh in the future if you just use a manager.

I have few mods which I installed through NMM, but I prefer manual installation. Even though it's a lot of work and research what mods to install first. If you are a casual modder or want it easy, use NMM, FOMM or Mod Organizer, saves some time and effort.

Backups of Fallout Data folder are necessity if you choose to use manual installation. I have couple backups just in case .

I wouldn't say Mod Organizer is casual. It just saves you from verifying your cache every hour. I do some manual installs for personal mods

@EmiliaTan Well, by casual I meant a person who does not use a lot of mods or by other means is not familiar with modding in general. Not the mod installer itself .

I'm confused, how is it for people that don't add many mods? Usually the idea is if you have a ton of mods you'd WANT to be using an organizer lest you spend hours finding each individual file, then validating the game cache to repair the deleted vanilla files. It can get confusing, conflict with other mods you don't want to delete and create a mess in the long term forcing many to reinstall and start from scratch.

I use Mod Organizer, too. It has a tiny learning curve, but once you switch you'll never go back. I still have NMM & FOMM installed, though. Sometimes use them.

mod organizer is the best and i wish the new team all the best in keeping it going now that it's creator has turned traitor and is now working on the HORRIBLE NMM i love the nexus but i dispise their manager!

I just use NMM. It seems to work and it's simple enough.

@Erebamgi He isn't a traitor. He's adding his own work on top of the NMM to improve upon it

Is that why NMM has mod profiles now? When I remember using MO a few years back it was the only manager I'd seen that had profiles.

I didn't even know NMM has profiles. Also I don't think the new NMM is out so I don't think its their work.

I use NMM for the most part, until I decide to create a modded TTW, then I use FOMM.
