[solved] Entire fps losses near camp searchlight.

Might as well try the troubleshooting forum.

So I have this weird bug surrounding Camp Searchlight.
I have not tried uninstalling all my mods one by one yet even though that can probably help me solve it the fastests.

So basically there is something surrounding south of camp searchlight near the airport and trailer park that makes my fps go from 60+ with enb to 10 or even less than 1 if I even look at it.
I have no idea what it is though.
A lot of ground and fences surrounding camp searchlight's are glowing green as well.
I know for a fact that it isn't my wasteland flora overhaul.
Neither is it a visual enhancements mod name EVE.

Now I have had this issue for a while now and I think it may have something to do with some of dragbody's mods.

Because today I installed his megapack and I think it got worse because of that mod.

I'm not blaming anything but maybe others have had the same issue.

So if someone has an explanation before I have to uninstall every mod one by one to check if its the cause that would be great.

I have had the same problem for my last few playthroughs over the years, when using or not using drag's mods, so I am not too sure that would be the problem, at least for me anyway.

However, since this always happens to me, I try to get somewhere right in the middle, battling through the stutter, and use killall in console. After that, it usually is okay for me until I come back to the area next time. Not a permanent solution, but something that might be worth a shot for you so that it is playable at least for a short time.

I'm 99% certain the problem will be the FCO - Glowing Ones esp.
Try disabling it and report back.

Noticed you had Destruction Overhaul installed.
It also had some issues with it that caused FPS loss.
This is why the mod was taken down.

I'll give those a try.

Edit: Yup. Thanks. Atleast one of the two mods you presented were the suspect.
FCO glowing ones was only a facial overhaul I thought but it does makes sence because the issue was mostly a green glow.

A bit later I tried installing destruction overhaul again but strangely it kept making the game freeze and I gave up.
Atleast the main issue is fixed. So that is nice.

I thought it'd be that. Drumber actually took down FCO - Glowing Ones a while back (at least a year ago) from what I remember. What you're using sounds like an older version of FCO. The most stable version 2.3.1 is the best in my opinion, but you shouldn't run the glowing ones plugin if it's included and only run other optionals if you need them. From the looks of your loads order you ran the whole lot. You only really need the FCO.esm.

FCO - Glowing Ones simply makes Glowing Ghouls... GLOW ha! But this proved to cause huge FPS drops in some areas. Searchlight is well known for having a large number of glowing ones in the area, so that's what's causing it.

Destruction Overhaul had some buggy meshes that would cause lag. I think the barrel was one of these. Just too much for the old engine to handle. Although it's a sweet sounding mod on paper, I would avoid Destruction Overhaul. Really great idea and effort, but again, just too complex for the FNV engine.

So that is the reason for the ancient load order.

for fallout NV and Skyrim I even used some mods with the nexus mod manager that I had manually downloaded years ago.

I believe this page just saved my PC from blowing up from going near the airport lol

Sorry for the necro but i don't think it was wise to make another thread about it.

Im having some nasty issues with searchlight, first off it freezes like for 20 seconds just after "discovering" the location and getting the +rads, then it goes back to normal but without sound effects for the weapons and freezing and stuttering very often, can't enter another cell, say a house in searchlight because it crashes totally, fortunately i'm using a fake fullscreen mod therefore i can easily close the game.

All of this didn't just happened once, several times i tried to cross through searchlight and ended up like that, i've been adding/merging esp's and fixing a lot of stuff with NV, making sure that everything goes well before starting to actually begin a new playthrough, hell i only stumbled across this because i was testing some mods, maybe starting over will do the thing idk.

I obviously made sure the read all of the stuff above, i don't use FCO or any kind of ENB or some other visual effects mod.
