Oh boy what topic. I could go on and on.
I started on the fun of video games way back in the 70's. Yes there were video games back then. You had to go to an arcade to find them. Mostly you had to have a lot of quarters for them as they were hungry all the time. At that time there wasn't much in the way of home video game entertainment. At least not that most people could afford. Then my Dad got Pong.
Yes, I literally started with Pong. Though Pong had been out for some time that was the first I had ever played. On my own home TV no less! And so the love affair started. Pissed off many a girlfriend and x-wife. Back then video games were the best contraceptive. Cause you'd never get any playing them. Women are so much cooler now.
I know this is not really on topic but I just wanted to let whom ever know how I started.
So my first real console was an Atari 2600 and my first computer was a Commodore 64. For the Atari it had to be Pitt Fall. I played E.T. on it as well. Yes it was buggy and broken. On the commodore it was BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception. Over the years I had gotten most of the other consoles. Nintendo's, Sega's, Xbox, Playstation. I even started building my own PC's. Been doing it ever since.
For me it's mostly been about the story in the game. Kotor 1 and 2, AD&D, Mass Effect, Jagged Alliance, Fallout, Elder Scrolls. So many great games over the years. Really hard to remember them all let alone pick a few.
Anyway there ya have my excessive ramblings on the matter. Wait....
What were we talking about again?
