Im so confused...what is lurking and why do people get demoted?

Lurking when when people log onto the site regulary but never post. An example is if I visited the site everyday but never posted since last year

i posted that already several times, but it seems there are still people who need help to understand the idea of the demotions.. well okay.. here it comes... read that... reading is good for you Wink

if someone ( a colonial or up ) has no time anymore for whatever reason and decide to make a break from gun then this is not a problem at all. real life comes allways first. the member dont get demoted for that. BUT, if a member ( a colonial or up ) do stop being active ( no posts for a certain matter of time ) but comes online on a regular base then this is the cause that leads to demotion. because then we asuming the member comes only online to see if there are new mods and nothing more and that is lurking. in the end gunetwork is a comunity and not a download hub.

Hey GUNers - about the DEMOTIONS: the members who are demoted didnt post over months/year, but connect several times and that causes to demotions. As Rex said this is not a download hub, its a modding community where modders also put their work for the members. And its important to leave the feedback. So its always something you can post, even if its only a "thank you for this mod..."!
