I've been trying to port some armors to fo4 for a while now with no luck. I've gotten models to show up in CK but ingame they're just switched to a vanilla item. What am i doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

That's so strange, but with this little information I doubt anyone can help you. Are you sure you added it properly with the geck? There are two mesh models for each outfit/armor, one for females and another for males, did you add them to the right one?

Well, specifically i'm working on some power armor rn. So i doubt that there are gender specific models? My process so far has been to extract the archive, export as obj. Go into outfit studio and then export as nif, apply textures, and then i just copy (for example) a PA torso and switch it's model with my own. It shows correct in CK but when i get it ingame it's just "T60 armor" or such.

Power Armor has many different parts, so just switching one .nif with yours isn't probably going to work. Also I would recommend to make a separate power armor instead of replacing a vanilla one so you can avoid issues like this, if you have more mods installed, chances are another mod is overwriting your nifs with it's own
