Hey, so I've been having trouble with my copy of Fallout New Vegas and these issues have persisted for a while, these issues popped up on my old PC and when I got a new machine, they still continue pestering me.

The game will mainly freeze up at some points and so I have to go to Task Manager and exit out of the game through that, or it'll just randomly crash and I've tried every single method I could find online. I've edited the New Vegas config files, I've installed NVAC and NVSR, I've even put the game in compatibility mode (Windows XP like Fallout 3) and nothing really works. I've done the same thing with Fallout 3 and it seems to work like a charm on my PC, hell it runs even better than New Vegas does.

If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it and if this can help, here are my specs.

OS: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB
Processor: Ryzen 7 3rd Gen 37000X 8-Core Processor
Memory: Two 8GB DDR4 3000MHz
Storage: 1TB SSD

Hello, I would recommend to check the Viva New Vegas guide and look for the CORE section. It should solve your stability issues. Tell me if your FNV runs better after that.

Also, is it safe to download certain mods alongside this such as Project Nevada and NMC's Texture Pack or no?

I guess your best bet is to follow the other sections of the guide...
NMC's is mentioned in the VISUALS section, along with other mods.
Project Nevada is very outdated, but there are many alternatives.You can check the following mods on the Nexus (in no particular order):
