| The enclave got their asses kicked by a tribal and a teenager, within a span of 30 years. And that's after you consider the fact that they are the only faction that has ready access to the most advanced weapons, power armor, helicopters and actual research facilities and scientists. It's safe to say that the enclave couldn't run a kindergarden class, let alone what remains of the post apocalyptic america
I dunno if it's intentional, but they represent what's left of the old world. And remember, the old world blew itself up, for a reason. Eden usually talks a lot of bullshit, but he was right when he talked about the incompetence of the old leaders. Ironic, considering what happens later in the game
In the words of Robert House "If you want to see the fate of democracy, look out the windows"
Honestly, the R&D Department they have isn't too bad, they would do a lot more good working for the factions like the NCR, BOS and the Institute. The enclave can keep their soldiers tho, their armor and weapons are good, but a whole lot it does for them if they're pretty much the fallout equivalent of redshirts _________________ http://z0r.de/?id=293

It is, I had remembered the "enclave in space" from somewhere and only today found the link. So it's non-canon. But apparently it's true that the midwest Enclave probably lost contact with the rest of the enclave and may very well have a different plan. In fact, it makes a lot of sense that they wouldn't get along, because otherwise it would have likely been a high priority for the Enclave president to re-unite with the other lost factions of the enclave. ... although what if the harsh environment of Chicago ghoulified the enclave there? Heh! - Sonichu_fanboy wrote:

Keep in mind of course that this tribal and that teenager could have eventually theoretically kicked the ass of everything, everywhere. My fallout 2 evil character bare-handed soloed San Francisco, and one-shotted someone in power armor. Killed Frank Horrigan, who could kill/blow off both arms of a deathclaws with one punch. That's just insane badassery. No wonder the enclave lost. |

| @Sirdanest Yeah that actually does make sense. I doubt the original purpose of the Enclave was to wipe out all mutated life when the time came. I personally believe, like you stated in your quote that it was to continue the fight against Communism by eliminating China and restoring Capitalism and the American way of life to the world after the bombs. @Sonichu_fanboy As did the Enclave in Fallout 3. The Brotherhood of Steel, Legion, Institute, NCR, and more can all be annihilated by the main protagonist. Is it safe to say all these factions are incompetent at running anything, not really. Look at it like this. The Main protagonist is always made op, if the story was realistic then the Lone Wanderer probably would of died when like me decided to go into Super-Duper Mart with a baton 10 minutes into my playthrough. |
