| Would Mothership Zeta have been more interesting if it had been a space station, a community of sorts with a number of plots and quests and such, rather than an entirely hostile shoot-em up? Certainly there still would have been excuses to eventually blow stuff up, but also other things going on as well. My opinion is yes, simply because I think Fallout is best when it mixes up a number of violent options with non-violent options.
I'm just musing on it, because if, Matrix-style, I could inject perfect, complete knowledge of modding skills (creation kit, textures, meshes, voice acting) what would I do first? I might make Space Station Zeta, weirdly enough. It's not the most popular choice, but it's one I'm pretty sure no one else is going to do. |

| I think this is a really interesting idea, it certainly would appeal to a great deal of players considering how popular the "Mothership Zeta Crew" mod was for Fallout 3 _________________ ____________________________________________________________

| That'd be really cool, perhaps you could even travel to and from the capital wasteland and the space station whenever you like. Would be really fun to have a completely separate location like that isolated from the rest of the game's world that you can escape to every now and then. _________________ [New Signature To Be Added Later]

| The Mothership Zeta Crew mod was by far the best quest/faction mod I ever laid my hands on for Fallout 3. My own fleet of starships and ex-Enclave soldiers. There wasn't a space station but the mod did include an underwater base that became a HQ of a sort, getting there was like killing everything that moved until the cavalry arrived - then came the reward of the base being slowly rebuilt.

| I've never played it, but I've seen the videos and it looks impressive. I'm a ttw user so I can't try it right now, and I suspect that having that kind of support/firepower would make all of New Vegas null and void, unfortunately. I personally thought Motherships zeta became a bit of a slog. Sci fi, space ships, aliens, there's an incredible amount of room for imagination and plot if you're going to use those elements. But I pretty much just wore out the fire button on the mouse. (I'm not telling other people whether or not they should like it.)

| @Sirdanest I never played it either but I personally really liked Mothership Zeta so I hope I get the chance to play it sometime. I might try my hand at porting it over to TTW 3.2... _________________ ____________________________________________________________

| @ Sirdanest (Original Post) I think this would be a perfect opportunity for some Old World Blues style content. I mean, look at how wacky and goofy old sci-fi was back then. You could get some funky alien species (both ugly and attractive), maybe some men in black style technology, both human and alien made. Not to mention some of the Fallout style dark humor you could have. Man the possibilities you could have would be endless with what you could create. That's just my opinion though. |

| In one fallout 2 ending, a hubologist pre-war space shuttle gets stranded in orbit, presumably to eventually suffocate or run out of supplies and die up there. But what if... The Enclave was also trying to get into space originally, before they gave it up and went with mass genocide instead. Could be there's a reason their space-travel plans went awry... The fellow abductee companions could have been more than they were,as far as characters in a story. |
