Hey guys and gals, I haven't modding PC games in over a few decades. I remember the days of modding the original doom during the era of dial up. Other than a few games here and there in the past few generations of games, I fell out of the world of modding. I primarily stuck to consoles for most my gaming needs due to convenience, since I mostly use my computer for digital work. Most mods these days have been plug ins and such for software and not in a gaming sense. When I saw Fallout New Vegas go on sale on Steam this weekend I decided why not. I always wanted to replay the game and see what the modding culture has been able to do with the game. Someone suggested I try Upgrades from the Commonwealth but it seems I have yet the "trust status" to access it yet. Which I guess I understand considering the work that goes into these, and such. Decided to jump into the community anyways to learn and participate in the current modding community. I am pretty knowledgeable with computers and common software usage issues that may come up, but bare with me I know I have a lot to learn about the ins and outs of actually modding recent games. I doubt I will require much of a learning curve once I attempt and fail a few times, but that doesn't mean I won't have a few moments where I just need something that seems a given explained to me. Already trying out Loot and got the basics for sorting, but I don't have many mods going yet so I'll see if the shit hits the fan once I really load up on mods if i truly know how to use it. Expanded fallout ram capability to 4 gig, installed NVSE and currnetly looking at which ENB I want to use. But really that is where it is starting to get crazy chaotic in options. So many options, and so many sub requirements for some. *sigh* indecisiveness fatigue for sure picking out which graphics mods to jump in with and what texture mods will fit my visual preferences the most.
Guess that is all I have to say about me without getting to personal about myself.
Slightly personal but not identity revealing part of myself. I like a wide variety of music, books and movies, the I like everything clique I know. a small exception overly romance driven media(not because it's for women but usually lacks originality in the realm of character conflict and growth) Show me a game, movie, song or book that is original and thought provoking and I become the boy at the end of A Princess Bride that doesn't really mind the kissing scene at the end of the story. Even before I was but especially as a parent I am not nor have been a fan of bullying. The only time I made an exception was in reddits /roastme and even then I felt dirty participating. To each there own I won't judge anyone for participating in something like that.
Look forward to meeting you all.
