If you replace the texture of a static, e.g. rockcanyon06, with a in geck texture, e.g. Dirt01, will this show up in the LOD or "error cannot find object"? This would have a new I.D., so I'm assuming it would not be recognized in the BSA mesh-textures.

No, I don't think changing a static's textureset influences the LOD's textures in any way.

Textures for LOD are, I believe, generated along with the mesh and are specific to that mesh. They can't be modified in the GECK, but you can modify them in Blender or Nifskope.

It would just over write the previous one, however if you alter its name it will still show for the base textures are contain in the fallout esm master file

It still shows the original mesh/tex (canyonrock06-canyonrockTEX) LOD, but when you come close the texture would change to the new texture set (canyonrock06-Dirt01)?

Sorry, it was a question. I didn't word it very well. Would it show original texture as LOD, and then as the LOD fades would it show new texture set? I'm thinking no? I thought if you had a new I.D. the geck wouldn't have any info to base an LOD on.
