so dracomies just uploaded a video about a forum he just came across about people listing mods they thought were crappy or game breaking and someone mentioned new california and the someguy series which i though was insane

disclaimer there is nothing wrong with disliking a mod if it is not your preference that's perfectly fine you can mod the game however you want but to make a thread of mods you would blastlist is probably not a good idea and i know mods have their issues and most of them can be game breaking i'll just let dracomies speak for me

dracomies makes very valid points. Someguy2000 is freaking awesome, there is a reason he is called the Quentin Tarantino of modders. His Someguy series is one of the most Legendary mod series in New Vegas. I haven't played New California yet because I am waiting for the bridge to New Vegas to be turned on in the mod, but from the videos I seen of it, it looks sweet and really awesome and I can't wait to play it ASAP. Seeing that the "List" is on elsewhere should really tell you that pretty much what is said on there should really be ignored. Just a bunch of kids ranting total nonsense. Would better to ignore them than post a video showcasing the list. Don't give them any attention or bring it to anyone outside of Reddits attention, Ignore it and let it die.

Something that kind of annoys me about this is the arguments the people lay out on why they don't use the mods.
"Weapons of the new Millenia is too high quality. Make them of lower quality." like what?
I haven't watched the entire video but I feel that they should list other alternatives too. Some do this but most just give bad reasons on why not to use the mod.

A good example is on electro city. It's a mod I personally dislike so I use "simple street lights" instead.
But I wouldn't go as far as to say no one should use it and blacklist it from people.
And then Someguy's or any other quest mods are half the reason I have so many hours into the damn game.
Someguy's mods do make you use up a lot of ammo sometimes!

Sometimes having it all isn't having enough man...like its user made content. Not a released game. People get up in arms about literally anything, including something being too good.

I agree to the point that negative posts like this can affect a person's motivation to do something such as modding however this is also a reality of the internet. It is not a phenomenon specific to modding but just the nature of the internet.

You will find people hating on a artist or a genre of music, a brand, a politician, a diet, etc. Each person is unique in their own way which is also why not every person will agree with one another because we all have our own way of doing things. Add the fact that the internet is like an open forum where anyone can just say/post what ever they want, people will take this opportunity to express their thoughts on the thing that they love and hate.

All we can really do is send all the love and support to the people that we care about, in this case our modders, to drown all the negativity other people direct at them and encourage them with praise, constructive criticism and support.

And also ignore the trolls since they just thrive on getting you to react how they want you to react.
