can someone help with geck please trying to make armor and none on the videos are helping

You need to be more specific on what you're trying to make bud.

Trying to make an armor as in hand make it? textures in all? or just editing the stats of an armor?

downloaded these textures you know in the mod area near the bottom somewhere theres the bounty hunter resource thing and im trying to make that into armor the guys called the ark he said something about body rigging and that, sorry about not being specific aha

I dont do that kind of stuff sorry.  

If your talking about putting a armor int he game that u downloaded.

U just put the texture/meshes in the textures and meshes folder of your Fallout data Folder, then Duplicate a armor in geck.

GO to biped model for male and female and find the texture you put into the textures folder.

From there you can alter the name/id/stats of your armor you downloaded


but if your talking about rigging and setting stuff on Skeletons. I dont do that. To many porters ruined my want to make custom armors myself.

ahh thank you anyway aha i might see if that works, the guy on here who had the model only said abou rigging and that so i dont think that will work, hopefully someone on here does know tho aha

you need to pick some programs such as Nifskope, Blender (specific versions, I believe 2.49 and 2.73 are needed) and some really good tutorials for them.

I don't actively rig or port, due to lack off skill and good tutorials (I'm lazy) but I plan to get into that during Fallout: 4. These are programs that help you achieve the rigging to the skeleton and bone weight, and much more stuff I'll sound stupid if I try to say, but do look into those, as they might be what you need. They are both free as well, I own both legally and never spent a dime.

GECK is the final step in this process. You need to rig the model first in programs such as blender i'm afraid. You can learn if you're patient, but it's not a walk in the park, so you won't find an easy tutorial regarding this and it's not something someone can explain that easily. Either way, I wish you good luck.

@mpaz96 That was why I never mentioned it yet, I was waiting to see if they had heard of the others first, but you are absolutely right, and I should have thrown that in. Good catch on that.

@mpaz96 Sorry I'm was on my cell, I meant I never mentioned the GECK at that point as I wondered the OP's knowledge or understanding of Blender or Nifskope. I would have written up something more descriptive if I was more experienced, with the Geck finish included, but modeling is a field I'm still learning in . I didn't want to lead him to think I had the smarts to lead him through this, it isn't fast or easy at least in my experiences haha.

cheers guys for the help and advice i guess i better start learning how to do stuff with blender and the other programs needed, maybe read up on them to see what else i could learn but thank yous two for taking the time to help me and explain what i need to do in order to make the armor and that much appreciative
