Dead memes aside, I was pointed here by the signup page. and it's a novel experience posting on a forum, (at least to my knowledge) that isn't run on Xenforo. More relevantly, I've just started modding for Fallout New Vegas and was directed here by a friend to pick-up the NCR Ultimate Overhaul, something I'm in the middle of downloading even as I type this. Otherwise... nothing really. I normally mod Skyrim and more recently FO4. I'm just about to start my first FNV play through.

Loads of different people come for different reasons. I hope you stay for the forums/community as well as the mods. Plenty of really talented creators and users put a lot of hard work in so we could all enjoy the fruits of pain staking labour. If you are new to the world of modding, or you are looking for any kind of support at all, just ask the forums and everyone will likely get back to you pretty quickly.

The purpose and reasons behind the private access mods is explained fairly well in the second link I provided. Truth is there's nothing there you can't live without and the majority of the mods are in the public section. It actually has nothing to do with rep points.
