They basically took everything that was good in Fallout 1 and improved it. They also listened to complaints and fixed a bunch of other shit. Definitely my favorite of the “classic” Fallout games.

I like to play it on my laptop since it doesn’t require much PC power.

Yeah I agree with you @Vicks it runs very smooth on lower end laptops. I used to play Fallout 2 on my crappy dell laptop and it works so good!(due to Fallout 2 being from the 90's and having taken less space).

I prefer Fallout 2 because it has a lot of room for role playing and an interesting cause and effect mechanic in terms of interacting with NPCs/Factions. It also has a lot of stories in it, at least compared to Fallout 1 and Fallout Tactics.

Oddly enough Fallout 2 was the first game that I played in the Fallout series then Fallout Tactics. I played the original Fallout when I was a bit older out of curiosity and could see what inspired stuff in Fallout 2.

Fallout Tactics is a weird phase in the fallout franchise when Brian Fargo was pushing this tactical gameplay and it sort of worked but not really. The XCOM like gameplay was interesting as well as being able to play as a mutant or ghoul but the game lacked immersion because you have limited interactions with NPCs/Factions in the game. I really liked the Matrix and Terminator themes in it, too bad it is no longer canon.

My favourite would be Fallout 2, comparing it to the first title is like comparing Mass Effect with Mass Effect 2, examples of good sequels. I really liked Tactics but i knew it wasn't strong on RPG as previous titles when i got into it, i like the tactical team thing going on there, last time i played it got stuck in a difficult part, haven't played ever since, been thinking about getting back to it.
