Doc Mitchell looked confused. "Well I don't know if it's what I'd picked for you but if that's your name that's your name."

"It's not what I would pick for myself, either. My full name is Epicurus because my dad has a soft spot for ancient philosophy. I happen to be good with field medicine so somewhere along the line, folks took to calling me 'Cure.'"

"Well I think cheating death up there in the graveyard gives you the right to pick a new name, son," said Doc. "It's your second lease on life after all."

"I suppose you're right. Something simple, for the love of the man Jesus. Let's go with John and be done with it."

"John it is," Doc said.

The new name filled John with new purpose. Doc was talking more and holding up pictures--somethings that looked like bears high-fiving. John didn't quite know what to make of it. Never the less, he knew that once he strapped his gear back on and headed back into the sun, things were going to change.

black faded to white, and white faded to black, Broken memories turned into nightmares, running, but from what?, a searing pain across my face, then I awoke.
"your awake", said a voice, rough yet calming
"mind telling me your name", said the voice again
"Marshal", I reply'd
"well marshal, I'm Doc Mitchel, you've been here for a couple weeks, a women, didn't tell me her name, brung you in with... well you best see for yourself", doc mitchel handed me a mirror.
"Now I tried to fix what I could but she told me it's best if you decide", Doc Mitchel added as I stared at the stranger looking at me in the mirror
Half my face was burned off, my eyes a ghoulish red, This had to have been related to the nightmare I expirienced.
"She also told me to give you these", Doc Mitchel had somehow walked across the room and back without me knowing, in his hands he held a cassette tape, vault security armor, a combat shotgun and a 12.7mm pistol, But it was the 12.7mm pistol That looked most curious, white with a black racing stripe down the centre, a long list of names carved into the handle with the last being "BlackJack", was this the person who had saved my life, As I ran my fingers along the handle, something happend a brief flashback.
"Don't tell the overseer about this, will you son?", came a ghostly yet familiar voice.
"I won't mum" I replied, and then the vision faded.
It didn't take me long to change, the left sleeve had been cut short for the device stuck on my wrist, a pipboy 3000 it was called, I took a second to familiarize myself with the controls and set out.
As I left my pipboy began to flash crazily, three hostile red blimps popped up, I looked no more than a couple metres ahead to spot 3 men wearing what looked like mechanised knights outfits out of some sci-fi medival fan fiction, I immediatly dived for cover behind the white picket fence, they hadn't seen me yet.
I checked the clip of my shotgun, nothing, I checked my 12.7mm, a full clip, that was 13 shots, they may have had the superior armor and weaponrary but I had V.A.T.S, the first 3 bullets missed, all aiming for the one with the gatling laser, all 3 immediatly opened fire, one of them, armed with a tri-laser rifle popped out from behind a pickup truck, It took one bullet for his helmet and head to explode, another popped out from behind a crate, two body shots left him cold and lifeless, the last soldier, the one armed with a gatling laser ran towards a nearby saloon, I saw my chance to get to better cover, I sprinted towards the pickup truck (An interesting crate was stached on the truckbed), the gatling laser suddenly began tearing through the air and then it stopped, he had to reload, I fired another 4 shots downrange, I don't know which killed him but he was dead, with 3 bullets to spare.
My pipboy registered this group as brotherhood of steel, and on each of them an underground bunker key and dogtag, I kept them, perhaps they could assist me later.
As ugly as the armor looked up close my pip boy registered it has wearable and that I had the neccesary perks to wear it, where had I learnt the power armor training perk, and why were these men trying to kill me, they seemed content with leaving everyone else alone.

Felix Marston was never much of a friend to anyone. He had a hard time with his people skills, unless you count the numerous vehicles and robots that came into his mechanic shop, hidden away in the Boneyard. But one day, a traveler came by and offered him a job, something to do with being a road-mechanic for 'his big journey', flashing a bag of caps. Felix had never seen that much money in his life, so while the offer was cryptic, he agreed.

Felix woke up dazed, beaten up, and hungry inside a rusty old shack.



As he walked outside, he was on the side of the road. He could see a tall needle in the distance. He only had a weird looking rifle and the clothes on his back. This was all so new to him.



He had no idea what had happened to him nor where he was, so he thought his best bet was to find somebody that could help him. Luckily, he came upon a ranger tower with a country boy nearby. While a bit rough around the edges, Felix liked the guy, who called himself Stu. The two grisly men decided to hit the road together. There was a weird feeling of trust between the two, and neither could figure out why this was. They got lucky, soon finding a way into the cellar beneath the tower. Some crazy gear was stashed within, so they both suited up and prepared for the adventure ahead. Next stop; the big needle.

Bio

Shadd is Vault 101 Dweller. After escaping from home to save his life and find father, he learned to survive in cruel Capital Wasteland. Soon after leaving the Vault he went to investigate Supermart but was catched by raiders that live there. He was saved from captivity by man named John - he shot right in the head raider's leader who was going to rape Shadd.

After this they traveled together; they found Shadds father and was witnesses of his death. After experienced trauma Shadd entered to romantic relationship with John. They completed father's work and found a way to turn on Purifier. shadd was ready to sacrifice his life but somehow he survived after getting extreme radiation doze. However, some of his organs failed after recevied damage so now he has few robo-mechanical prothesis (eyes, lungs and spine).

At some point they decided to take a break and have a rest in Megaton. They broke up with John because of incident with John's former lover, Moira Braun. John decided to join Brotherhood of Steel and became a Knight.

In the final combat with Enclave John was injured - wound was fatal. But his old mutation saved his live - doctors figured to give him hight doze of radiation and provoke process of regeneration. Shadd was very frightened when he realised that he could to loose his beloved man forever so they became together again.

Some time later they figured out that someone hired killers to kill Shad. To save him, brotherhood sent him far away to west. Shadd lived in Mohave four years; when he felt lack of caps, he found Courier job. But this job turned out very complicated...


Personality

He is very vulnerable, kind and naive person. He's very painfully reacts to injustice and violence, so he hated Legion as soon as he saw what they did to Novak; just as Paradise Falls. He lacks physical strength, but he is very smart and have skills in medicine and science and very good at shooting from conventional weapons. He does not like to lead and prefers a subordinate position - in the usual and in the sexual sense. He is very emotional and sensual. He is afraid of loneliness and always in need of defender during the wanderings on wasteland.

The firefight was over, the dead behind, yet noone batted an eye, a patrolling securotron drove past without as much as a stare, with the corpses looted I walked up to the saloon the paladin had been moving towards, the wooden planks that made up the porche creeked under the pressure of my boots, an old man sat to the left of the door, docile, un-interested, so I ingnored him and entered the saloon.
I was greeted by a women and her dog (a coyote by the looks of it) ,"cheyene stay, don't worry she won't bite less I tell her to".
She wore leather armor, jet black, a small rifle on her back and judging by the way she carried herself she knew how to use it"
"Any chance a girl like you could give me some pointers for out here in the wastes", I asked.
"I suppose there's a few things I could show you, follow me out back" she said
I stopped her as she was about to leave, "by the way I didn't catch your name, miss?"
"smiles, sunny smiles", she reply'd
we left out the back entrance, a row of glass bottles were lined up along a fence, Sunny handed me a rifle similar to hers (one had to wonder where she had been keeping it), "now take this and shoot down those bottles" she said.
We must have been there for hours, perfecting my skills, making my aiming somewhat competant, I guess a small glass bottle doesn't make as easy a target as a large heeping pile of steel. But those hours flew by and by the time we were over I had all but spent the rounds in her own rifles magazine ,"My apologies", I said
"no worry you can make it up to me, hunting partner" she said, she said in a way you would say to to break an awkward silence after a long argument.
So I suppose we were partners now, atleast for the time being.

Blurred faces and various voices, accents fill the air, confusion follows, a sudden, bright light of impact and pain, everything goes dark, still, consciousness slipping away into nothing.

But this wasn't the end, not yet.

Time goes on for eternity, finally, a flicker of thought emerges, weighed down under the earth, broken and helpless.

The Earth is disturbed, blurred noises of moving soil as the weight becomes lighter, vision becomes brighter. A harsh, cool, metal grip is felt, and then movement.

Pulled from a shallow grave, held by Mechanical Arms, a last glimpse of white electrical glow, Then blackness.

Finally, the flicker of consciousness returns, a blurred, spinning object comes into focus.

"You're awake, how about that"...

God knows how long I spent with Sunny, Though in reality it were likely a couple days it felt like years, Winter had rolled by, It was astonishing to see how quickly the wasteland adjusted to the snow, the it never lost it's western charm, My outfit had been damaged by gecko bites during my first outing, the body armor was fine, Sunny had helped me pick out a cheap yet warm suit from Chets general good store, the body armor fit over perfectly, The shotgun was a lost cause, in desperate need of repair, but I still kept it, it looked menacing enough besides what if my savior ever wanted it back. Chet also had a couple pre-war ballistics in stock, a colt m1911 and h&k usp 10mm though I chose the latter due to the rarity of 45. acp.

I left a note for Sunny, no need to speak face to face, she would likely convince me to stay, with tales of a gang about to kill everyone in goodsprings or a stowaway in the gas station, (I chuckled to myself at the very idea)

It was warm, atleast warm-ish, no need to wear anything else, bar my current attire, I had adopted a face mask to conceal some of my burn marks, Sunny also said it went well with my eyes, gave me a demonic look.

The road to primn was dense with deserted vehicles, long destroyed and salvaged, A couple gangs ran across the road, the distant crack of gunfire as they fought bloatflys and geckos. They pinged red on my new pipboy readius, (a gift from chet to fit my new suit), I always had this belief when looking at the pipboy compass, "If it's red it's dead, If it's yellow, It's mellow", I didn't hesitate killing the ones on the road, they the ones blocking my way, the others were pre-occupy'd by the bloatflys.
One my way down the roads I spotted a billboard, a filly in a BoS, armor with text reading "stimpack please", I had the sudden urgue to check my stimpack count, 9.

I was stopped an ncr soldier, his armor was ugly, dyed white but still out of place, he gave me a quick warning about Primmn, Bandits and powder gangers, nothing I couldn't handle, I went on my way, the bridge seperating the ncr and bandits was relatively new, makeshift clearly, I took the chance to remove a pertruding pipe from the bridge, fassioning a suppressor, it would last atleast 6 shots, Killing the bandits was quick, my aim was much better, precise headshots were key, only a couple were able to get shots on me costing me a single stimpack, I instantly went for the sheriffs office, it was a mess, 2 mutilated bodys on a bed in the other room, but in the main room a safe, it wasn't had to open, I shot the lock off, Inside was a note a couple 44 magnum rounds and a scoped 44 magnum revolver, Lil' Macintosh the pipboy identifed it as, it was chromed silver with a jet black hammer and cylinder, it had an ivory grip with 3 apples on it, I inspected the firearm, FRom what the note read, this revolver was a parting gift from a friend, a peace offering, entrusted to the primmn sheriffe for safe keeping, And that he were to give it to whoever came in asking for it (meaning it must have been a secret), I felt bad for taking it but who knows, maybe it was meant for me, The note also made mention of a return to address, the mojave outpost, the location was instantly pinged to the pipboy upon mentioning it, As quickly as I entered Primmn I was gone, A trail of the dead behind me.
