 Blender Animators, help Please!

I'm trying to make a reload animation for the M4 in blender, I have the rig set up and all, and I imported an M4 from Heffy's pack into a .blend file so I can work in blender 2.74, but when I choose Append to import that M4 into the rig, I can only get the weapon to show up, but without a magazine. I have to import the mag separately and line it up and as I see it that would be a pain, having to make sure the mag is always lined up as I animate. I'm just curious if there is another way to do this? Keep in mind, I am a total noob with Blender and animating in general, I know the BASICS. I know this will be a slow process, but any help is appreciated.

P.S. Does anyone know how to import a handgrip for a weapon (like say if I wanted it to match up with vanilla or Hitman's anims) into a .blend rig? I have no clue.
