I'm just wondering what are your guys opinions on companions from both games.
Personally i think that the only truly interesting companion from Fallout 4 is Nick. His backstory was actually pretty interesting compared to the likes of Cait who is simply a drug addict, MacCready who is a fan service insert from Fallout 3 with a sick son, Codsworth a robot before the war, who somehow ended up in a better condition then the other similar robot without any maintenance, and a dog, just a random dog.
As for Fallout NV my personal best is probably Boone. I love his story about how just simply following orders sometimes leaves a huge impact on the soldiers. Plus the story with his wife is just downright depressing.

Personally my favorite companion is Arcade. Its cool seeing him accidentally allude to his enclave past then try to cover that up when you ask him about it, and I think its wild that his quest line gets you more air support at the dam, also selling him to Caesar is just so evil its funny.

nonhuman ed-e for various reasons which include ties to the enclave a good pack mule and frankly least he isn't gonna judge you or leave you if you are a massive evil prick
