Was looking for Power Armor mods for NV, came across Drag's Upgrades from the Commonwealth, although not being able to download yet I found this site and loved it.

@ICEBIRD112 Me personally, watched some NCRVET videos and saw RSA weapons pack, the rest is history.

Like many people, I was introduced to GUN via mod showcases on YouTube. Though I may have joined with the intentions of getting mods only, I've since fallen in love with this wonderful community and could really care less about the mods now.

Was looking for a new sight other than Nexus for different Fallout 4 mods, also had stumbled across a gun that I couldn't find anywhere else was on GUN.

@frootcakes I can relate to you there, I went here for the mods, but I really like the community and how nice it is, so I stayed.

Been here for 3 years now, I was one of the original members here at GUN. At the time we were known as VGU, as you can tell because of my green username I am a veteran of the old site. I joined the OG site back in... I wanna say early 2012 I can't remember really.

Now, why did I join? My older brother told me about some MW2 armors for FO3 and I was like hell yea I want that. He told me VGU was the go-to place for it. Looked it up and found out about the promotion system. I never once bitched about it, quite the opposite. I loved the system and still do.

After the original site shut down I came here where I still enjoy the community after 5 years.

Desperately looking for Master Chief's armor for Fallout 4, which I had allready seen some place, no idea where though, after about...actually I have no idea how long i spent searching for the armor, i stumbled upon a youtube video, showcasing the same armor but for Fallout:NV, however it did have an URL linking to this site, eventually I found the armor, and so much more O.o

i saw a youtuber i followed post a link

like others on the forums over on nexus, was only given hints of another site that made mods that nexus didnt like and was led there, back when it was f3underground which was back in 2010. Think I applied once for veteran on here but *sniffle* wasnt remembered, eh happens when rl butts in ye?

Came across the AKM project on youtube by accident, started looking and first found the russian modgames site, it was way too difficult to navigate even when it was translated and started searching for it somewhere else. Then i found GUN, and i'm really glad i did.

I'm still going through all the mods and haven't really focused yet on being an active member of this community, a community that i must say seems pretty awesome. Due to the massive amount of members on Nexus it's safe to say they have no real community over there, you guys are different though. I like it. I'll try to be more active instead of just coming here for the mods.

It was when I was watching modding videos over on YouTube, like AlChestBreach and ZeroPeriodProductions, and Gopher. I also discovered the YouTuber, NCRVet while I was looking for a good graphical set up. Through his vidoes I discovered the mod project, The Frontier, and through more of his videos I discovered the GUNetwork. I didn't really join until a year or so after though. Officially I joined last year, but I didn't really start using my account on here until around January of this year.

Another member who's name I've forgotten had a Fallout New Vegas playthrough going and I think around the same time Hitman released his first big set of animation mods. Upon seeing that, I did some googling, watched the videos, found out about this website. Made an account on the spot, started downloading all (and I do mean all, I've still got his door pushing animations saved somewhere from when they were around) of Hitman's mods and lurked for awhile. Decided to become an active contributor for one, because of the promotion system, and two, it's nice to have good discussions about mods.

I saw Under Two Suns on youtube and thought it was awesome. So I signed up here and found out there was awesome stuff even newcomers could download. Posted some memes, made some jokes and then saw I was mentioned by the boss man, praised Dragbody, and the rest is history.

@MotionlessGhost That is literally the same exact reason I joined, but my outlook on the website changed, at first I came here for the mods, but a little while later I actually became active and learned how nice and accepting the community is. I just want this website to never die, because this is the only community that I have stayed for, and the only community I really love.

NcrVet videos, dragbody ports. I have found many great mods in the public section so far.

I was brought here thanks to NCRVet's videos back when the site was VGU.

I tried being active a few times, but never remained consistent unfortunately.

I still watch NCRVet's videos though, love his content.

@Aidan_r_m Hmmm, that's a good question. Kinda tough to answer because there's aspects of both sites that I really like for example; the OG site was much more lowkey we had less members but was much more lowkey. Also, we didn't have any public (or maybe a few) mods so that meant that people had to actually work for the promotion to get access. As a result more users actually contributed (even if it was crappy half-assed posts) instead of grabbing and go.

Now I'm not knocking people who do that, I guess not everyone is a sociable type who wants to associate with other people.

What I like about GUN now is that we're a lot more lenient here, believe me. But I think my favorite part of this site is the new friends I've made. Limitlessness, caek, aarius, Constable Canada, and Mojave Plasma etc.

That was probably a really lousy answer (I don't think I even answered your question) but yeah.

I saw an NCRvet video on clone ultima and was like "duuuuuuude that's sweet!" but was too scared to join from the rumors about the site. Really glad I did in the end though, some really great people here.
