What Is your favorite main quest line in any Fallout game and why?

My favorite main quest line in New Vegas is the Ring-a-Ding-Ding because i get to kill the exact guy that tried to kill me.

Killing benny did not satisfy me though, he was just the first step in WORLD DOMINATION!!!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

new vegas is my favorite over 3 by far for the limitless RP potential, but 3's main quest was something special, and really well written, not to mention having liam neeson aka "epic neeson" as me and my friend call him, lol.

I have said it, and I will say it again and again.. :/ Fallout 3 had the best main storyline for me.. why?? because it grabs the player emotionally.. in FNV you are basically a 3rd party with the power to shape the future of the Mojave and possibly more.. don't get me wrong its cool and big scale stuff.. :L

BUT!! in Fallout 3 it was so much more meaningful to me.. I got attached to Liam Neason (who is an AMAZING!!! actor!!) as my dad.. and I WANTED!! to find him because he was awesome.. and when I did I was so fucking happy to me following him.. helping him forfill my mothers dream and when he died... fuck me did I hate the Enclave.. I WANTED!! to help the Brotherhood fight them!!..

I wanted to take back my farthers hard work that the Enclave where going to take credit for (that the BOS did take credit for in the end though not as much) :L long story short.. the story in Fallout 3 gripped me harder as a player/gamer emotionally and I wanted to do the quest because of reasons.. not like in Fallout NV where the only reason I did any of the quests (in the main story) was "oh I wonder what will happen if I help *insert here*"

I like FO3's story because well you're a simple vault dweller and you're just looking for your father in a world you don't even know. But you still manage! The story was special to me though. Vault guy turned into lone wasteland badass! You went to the depths of the most horrible places and made it out. You won the game against the Capital Wasteland! You earned a right to be on the hall of legends! Basically the story made me feel like a total badass. And it's pretty touching at the end too because it's like your life long awaited quest is over.. That is if you don't have broken steel!

For me personally its a toss up between Fallout 2 and 3. Fallout 3 got you in the feels. Fallout 2 however had the grander scale and a real sense of impact on not just you but your entire village.

Dont read if you aint played:

Fallout 2 main quest had everything you need for an epic adventure:
- a noble cause
- hostile wasteland to explore
- trusty companions
- vicious bad guys
- ugly badass character for a final boss
- happy ending (mostly)

I liked Fallout 3's main story, starting you from birth then leading you through childhood to young adult really helped build the character. Making me feel like my character was transcending from a naive child to a wise experienced man.

I have to choose New Vegas simply because of the many routes you can take, even is some are more dis-satisfactory than others...

I'm pretty sure I put Fallout 3. I haven't found the time to sit down and play Fallout and Fallout 2 so I can't really talk about them.

Fallout New Vegas' story felt weird to me. You start out just trying to find the guy who put you in a shallow grave. You find him, and next thing you know, you have to decide whose side you're fighting on in the Second Battle for Hoover Damn. The end goal of the entire story is kick out all opposing factions.

In New Vegas my choices made a difference to what happens in the game, just my preference tho

That's a tough one for me,I always enjoyed the title of Lone wanderer(With Pride! like the Lone Ranger),but..Eh..this gonna take some time to ponder.(Might never have straight answer though.

It's been such a long time since i played the earlier fallout games, that I can't remeber them that well lol but i think i have to go with new vegas.

I like how the hunt for benny draws you in to the bigger conflict of the ncr and the legion. NV made me feel like my decisions had a bigger impact on the population of the mojave.

The main quest in Fallout 3 to me was the best because it was the most memorable to me. The Enclave was a worthy/cool faction to fight and just the characters you got to interact with in the main story were so memorable and unique. In Fallout 3, I felt like I was actually making a difference and just wasn't an over glorified bodyguard or delivery boy doing the bidding of others.
