greetings everyone,

just made my first banners for the vgu and my very first banners ever... they may be not so good but i hope you like them for a first try. what you see here are pictures that i have made over time when i played fallout.

Lets just put them all.They are all cool and im sure till the end of the week,we will see them all of them but my favorite one has to be number 2 tottaly number 2.

Not this is a fine fine collection
I'm gonna run through each of them, from the site's perspective

1. a bit bright to put up there. too much light in it.
the text is alright, I like u aligned it with the button pad
and the armor pictured just screams out "Rex! Rex!" lol

2. this is probably my favorite as well. good colors, good composition, good text placement. my only regret is that you didn't catch Deathstroke's other half of his mask, which is much cooler

3. what a great ensemble here. beautiful ladies, ready to kick up dust.
again, the background is a bit too bright, but we may make exceptions on that

4. this one is a bit weird. although I love orange, I'm sensing a lot of pink. the figure is a bit melancholic, unlike the bad-ass ladies before her. could've used a different text font here, to go better with the building. don't be afraid to experiment with different text fonts

5. cute shot but not an excellent one. If the sun was against her,
she'd have a reason to hold her hand like that. also, the part of her
that we actually see would've been lit up, instead of shaded, darkened. the sky is way too bright as a whole, and very little is going on.

6. now here we have a bit more going on. the colors are a bit saturated, though; the contrast is high too. there's nothing visually of it that matches the forums. the text doesn't really match there. maybe if the words were on the same line, but as it is it just looks random. a very Rexy pic but not sure it would fit the site

7. this would fit the site. It looks like it's not even taken in Fallout
very cool armor/mask, very good color contrast, the blue goes well with our site and the text is discrete enough not to bother and yet visible enough to make its point.

8. this is a great shot. the armor and weapon go together very well
however, the text is too small and too orange. maybe if it was a light brown, and a bit larger. maybe write VGU on the left side (behind her head) & NETWORK on the right side (under the gun) with larger letters in all, different font too. you don't have experience with this yet but I'd also add a dark fading frame around the pic so that there's a smoother transition from the darkness of the site to it

9. honestly not a big fan of this one. the model is not that good, the position is uninspired, maybe if there were 3 more in the background it would've been better. otherwise it's got a boring feel to it. just doesn't appeal to me. the text itself is way too red, doesn't match the picture at all.

10. strong image, shows a very well done Riddick model in a clasic, almost cinematic pose. but again, the pinkness of the sky is bothering me. also, would've been nice to have a moon or a flying creature/swarm or a space ship or something in the background
otherwise, make the text larger to occupy all that empty space

11. ...like you did here Smile

very nice pic again. I like that it's darker,
it's less blinding when it goes against the site's background. I only wish you used the helmet's green color for the text, instead of the sleeves yellow

12. this feels very very wrong. I understand the original shot must've been impressive, but the proportions weren't maintained. you've flattened her butt, it looks quite abnormal and unattractive to me. also, the text color is uninspired. would've been better if you just aligned the words in one row and given it a gray hue, maybe slightly larger letters and maybe a different font too. I know you like the font but it doesn't go with everything

13. This is one of your coolest screenshots, but again, to me, it seems squeezed. also, I could barely find the text. the colors are okay, the setup is nice, just don't squeeze it

14. again, a picture that doesn't feel related to Fallout (which is great, since this is a Video Game site, we're not exclusive to fallout). I love the colors, that orange is my favorite, but with a black/gray/blue site it doesn't go so well. perhaps if you change the hue to a light blue it can look like a night shot. I like the smoke, it keeps the background interesting (unlike the pic with Riddick) and the proportions seem okay on the pic, although the text is a bit too small and too dark.

15. Hail to the King! Very nice advertisement for Duke fans, although the games are pretty shit closed eyes smile

the text should've had the color of the moon. Other than that, it's pretty cool. nice looking moon, and although only the lower half of the face is lit up, it make sense since the moon is behind him. not shabby at all, though an Arnold model would've been better for my own personal tastes TongueTril

Now that I've thought about it a bit, I think that awarding Screenshot Contest winners the chance to have their screenshot as a banner loses all value if we hoist up your own screenshots here, with no contest attached to them. However, if we put #1 on the winning banners, like I have done only on the winter winners so far, that might just set them apart from yours, or any other screenshot we'd have made as a banner for the site.
That also means we should take the winning screenshots from past contests and slap them in banner form, with a #1 mention on them.
Food for thought.
