Hi there. I just started playing Fallout: New Vegas. It's my first time playing it, as I got started on FO4.
(Please don't roast me lol)
What are some good mods that make it more interesting? I love post-apocalyptic cities and things and right now it's starting out quite slow with being out in the middle of the desert. (Funny story, it literally looks no different from NV now lmao).
What are some good mods you can recommend for someone who started out on F04 and wants to enhance NV?
Also, if there's a rideable horse mod somewhere, I definitely want to get in on that.

@loopsoup - welcome to GUN. I'm going to have to earmark the threads the next time I find them since it's a popular topic. Lots of NV fans here and very few judgements. We don't flame around here so be comfortable.
Anything on youtube by Gamerpoets or Gopher about modding NV is a good place to start. The others here will help you as they roll through. Anyway, enjoy.

Well hello there.
I am not sure if you are new to modding new vegas but just in case you are here is a link that list mods that makes the game more stable especially for new systems.
Here is also tutorial videos on how to use the mod managers for this game.
GamerPoets tutorial on Mod Organizer 2 Gopher's tutorial on Vortex Gopher's tutorial on Nexus Mod Manager
Personally I used the first Mod Organizer before I stopped playing.
Making the world look beautiful is a good start at modding the game as well as experiencing the game raw.
Here is video from ExoticRPGs on how to install an ENB.
This mod is the most basic that will overhaul the textures of the environment. The game would look good with just this mod alone but if there is a certain look you are going for you can simply install another texture mod to overwrite the files of this mod and it woudl work.
NMCs_Texture_Pack_For_New_Vegas
I couldn't find any mods that lets you ride horses but here are some rideable creature mods that I found.
Let us know if this was helpful or if there is anything else you need.

Hello loopsoup
So to add to the already very informative replies. I found the video below to be quite complete and should be helpful. He covers stability/textures/weapons/animations/UI etc. It helped me decide what I wanted out of my modern New Vegas run earlier this year. All the links to what he uses are in the video description.
That being said whatever your vision is for your New Vegas playthrough is, it might some time to build up to. (Finding all the right mods for it and testing them etc.) Since its your vision take your time with it and I can almost guarantee your gonna have an amazing time. Kinda jealous its your first time playing FNV, wish I could go back fresh and experience it all for the first time. LOL
I hope this helps a bit, best of luck.
