ENB memory Empty
PostSubject: ENB memory   ENB memory EmptySat Apr 22, 2017 5:08 am

Hello, my friend is looking for help with his game and i cannot help him since i do not know how this kind of thing works.
I will try to explain what he explained to me.
He says that by using the ENB, you should be able to get the game to use more memory instead of 4gb.
Or that is what he thinks, he is not sure about it.

He sent me this:

[PROXY]
EnableProxyLibrary=false
InitProxyFunctions=true
ProxyLibrary=other_d3d9.dll

[PERFORMANCE]
SpeedHack=true

[MULTIHEAD]
ForceVideoAdapterIndex=false
VideoAdapterIndex=0

[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=true
DisablePreloadToVRAM=true
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=64
VideoMemorySizeMb=27488
EnableCompression=false
AutodetectVideoMemorySize=true

[WINDOW]
ForceBorderless=false
ForceBorderlessFullscreen=false

[ENGINE]
ForceAnisotropicFiltering=true
MaxAnisotropy=16
AddDisplaySuperSamplingResolutions=false

[LIMITER]
WaitBusyRenderer=false
EnableFPSLimit=false
FPSLimit=60.0

[INPUT]
KeyCombination=16
KeyUseEffect=123
KeyFPSLimit=36
KeyShowFPS=106
KeyScreenshot=44
KeyEditor=13
KeyFreeVRAM=115

[ANTIALIASING]
EnableEdgeAA=true
EnableAccumulativeAA=false

[FIX]
FixGameBugs=false
FixTransparencyBugs=false
IgnoreGECK=true

That is what is in the enblocal.ini
He disabled the enb effects "[GLOBAL]
UseEffect=false" which can be found in the enbseries.ini
When loading the game, it supposedly says "New vegas available texture memory 4068" (not sure if the number is exactly that but if it is not that, it is really close to that).

So he was wondering, is it possible to make the game use more memory or it is the best he can do.
He says that he has annoying continious lags when shooting with some guns and when aiming down the sight.
Wherever he is, he says that he uses mods that takes a lot of resources so logically, if he would have that memory for it, it should not lag at all, but that is the problem, he thinks the game is not using all the memory he could.
He told me that he has about 10 - 12 gb of video memory and 16 gb of ram.

If anyone knows exactly how to make it so it won't lag anymore and so the game uses more available memory, we would both love to know! Thank you.

Edit: Still the same problem, so if anyones knows how this works, i would love to hear it, thanks!

ENB memory Empty
PostSubject: Re: ENB memory   ENB memory EmptySat Jul 08, 2017 1:46 pm

The post is from april so I don't know if this is still an ongoing problem. But since nobody gave this particular trouble a shot ...

In any case from what I understand about this I would say that those "New vegas available texture memory 4068" is the memory size of the graphics card that the ENB has - due to AutodetectVideoMemorySize set to true - automatically detected.
If you friend has indeed more memory ("He told me that he has about 10 - 12 gb of video memory" <- o.O) he has to set AutodetectVideoMemorySize to false and make the entry in the line "VideoMemorySizeMb" accordingly.

As for the stuttering/ lags: First of all, the value set for ReservedMemorySizeMb is way too small. Start with 256 and if stuttering continues add step by step 64.

As for the game itself using more memory: That's what the 4GB patch is for. But, to my knowledge, this is only about the RAM of the system and has nothing to do with the memory of the graphics card. So in short an ENB doesn't make the game itself use more RAM.

I'm a bit puzzled - why would he disable the ENB-effect? He seems to have the hardware for it.

I'm guessing here, but I think what he is in fact looking for is this: CTD and Memory patch ENBoost
