I came to GUN after watching NCRvet's FONV Armor mods videos, and realized that a large portion of the mods came from GUN. Anyways I don't really know what I'm doing.

From my understanding,you must put in effort and become apart of the community which doesn't seem bad at all.
The problem is that there are people stealing the content these modders make so GUN is the solution.
Once you become involved and basically show everyone that you are not here to just take the mods, You will be able to access those mods once promoted.

I personally don't have access to a pc that can play New Vegas, not yet anyway but it didn't seem like a bad idea to me to try to get promoted before I start learning how to mod eventually.
As long as your friendly and have input in the community, you'll be fine.
I'm new to this website also so take this with a grain of salt.

Just be active, friendly and helpful.
That doesn't mean you have to devote your life to the site or something, but be respectful and be part of the community. Just act like you'd normally act with friends, offer feedback on mods, offer help to users when they post a question like this and just make yourself known around here.

The people who operate the community will notice you and eventually you'll become a colonial so long as you follow the guidelines.

Hey dude don't make becoming a colonial your main goal. Just stay active and enjoy this community, how can you not when there is so much to talk about and so many friends you can make! So far I'm having a blast getting to interact with everyone.

Welcome, @GiantNards! Yeah, i saw some NCRvet's videos too and that's one of the reasons why i'm here but hell, man, this community is very good and friendly. It is worth your staying here not just for mods. Good luck!

Well just post frequently obeying the 16 GUN Commandments and the mod Gods will open the heavenly gates of modding heaven to you. In other words, just post civilised stuff and soon you'll gain access to mods.

I get it, you're new and impressionable and GUN sounds quite sinister to outsiders. But once you get to know us, once you realise why we do this, GUN will accept you with open arms. We're not the bad guys, though many others will have you think that.
