Subject: Slow Loading Screens Problem Thu Jul 24, 2014 4:00 am
So i started up my fallout new vegas and it takes like 5-10 minutes to load with 4gb new vegas and stutter remover any ideas on how to fix this (i also use a enb with nmc texture pack) . a reply would be much appreciated

Have you sorted your load order? How many plugins do you have total? Are you running on a HDD or SSD?

yes i have sorted my load order, i have a total of 110 plugins,and i am running HDD.

Okay. Are you trying to load an existing save? Or are you trying to start a new game?

How big is the save file? Sorry for all the stupid questions, but I know giant save files take forever to load on a HDD.

Also, do you install by FOMM? Or do you still manually install. That means you probably have a TON of useless files in your data.

i use Nexus Mod Manager for most of my mods i install but i some times install by FOMM and manual install. and the largest save file i have is 15000 kb and the smallest is 3kb

Yeah, that's a pretty big save file. I would try the New Vegas Save Cleaner. It'll get rid of a lot of unnecessary clutter and reduce your save file size. Making it easier to load.

Try deleting your ini files and run fnv launcher and try the 4gb exe again.

Ok thanks guys im gonna go see if the fixes fixed it by the way will deleted unnecessary save files i dont use fix the load time?

Probably not, but if you have no reason to hold onto them then go ahead. It's worth a shot.

Tale of Two Wastelands really increased the loading time with was aggravating every time I died. I only experience this problem due to high memory on a save. Thanks to P7 for suggesting the New Vegas save cleaner!

Just a quick warning about the New Vegas Save Cleaner, it removed some of my unique weapons that I put in storage while in-game. Not sure if this happens to anyone else but it's just a pre-caution. I'd still recommend this mod but I advise to backup saves before doing so!

There's a bunch of performance fixes like FNV4B and plugins for the script extender that help too, i'd just suggest looking around as i don't have any of the links laying around

My advice is to try an LAA patch as suggested in posts above, or just scrap the save file all together as it could be corrupted.
