I don't like Kyloe Ren either, i agree with BeS
i see him as whiny litle boy in a sith outfit, and swinging his Lightsaber destroying ship componenets like they don't matter, make Star Wars looks like a child movie
just my opinion

To be completely honest I think the looks of the actor ruined the perception of ren. If you solely judge his actions he's actually quite badass and has a lot of depth to his charachter. But to me his look with the mas off simply made me think of him as kind of a wuss.
I just wish they would have casted someone with a more threatning aura. It would have made things much more believable. Anyway back to The Division

@"T.A.Z" I think that was the point though, under the mask is the emotional child of two beloved characters, I think they were going for a more human "relatable" approach with him. But putting that aside, I really, really didn't like him.

He did come off as a bit of a wuss, and the temper tantrums did him no favors, but I think he has some potential.

I enjoyed him but after the final act he begins to fall into the trope Villain Decay so they should get a new villain ready to replace him or up the villain on him.

Emotionally he's very much a wuss, but physically he's pretty freaking tough. He takes a blaster from Chewbacca and still stands like a bad ass.

I think they could have made him more interesting by having a sort of confidence or pride, which would help balance his other insecurities. From what is shown in the movie, I am lead to believe he might be one of the strongest, if not the strongest force user there is, he just needs control and guidance. I would say physically he is done right, lean but still imposing.

He really didnt seem to intimidating hope that he gets better treatment in the next few movies, same with phasma not having much character.

Anakin was a bit of a whiney, emo wuss before he came Darth Vader. I think Kylo Ren is a wuss, for now. He has so much potential and, I hope, the training Snoke puts him through gives him that extra push to true badass-ery.

I think that we're likely to see a large improvement in him over the coming films. Sort of an evil Luke Skywalker if you will, who started out in the original film as a bit of a whiny kid. But eventually he progressed to be a rather intimidating Jedi.

Well according to Tim the Stormtrooper, Kylo Ren is a punk b**** that looks like he weighs 30 pounds soaking wet underneath his little black dress lmao!

The thing is, there's not much motivation behind what he's doing, so even if he's powerful, he just seems whiny and power hungry.

I think I read somewhere that his lightsaber looks all unstable and serated because the crystal in his saber is broke, which is supposed to be metaphorical for his allegiance and how torn and broken he feels, little interesting slice of info for you there!

I liked him, I thought that he was a pretty cool character. I felt he came off more as a confused person, like he wants to be dark yet can't fully embrace it.

Sadly the same thing could be said about the First Order as a whole, their main driving motivation seems to be. "Because we're evil."

SPOILERS; Prepare for ramble!:
( Let me start off by saying; I Really didn't like SW:TFA. I thought the writing was utter garbage. Having said so, I'll try not to let that put a bias on my opinion of Kylo Ren. ) ( Side note: Going by 'Legends' as the current cannon is tiny. )
Kylo Ren, The estranged daught- Ugh, No bias, No bias... SON of Han Solo (How did they manage to screw /that/ up?! ) and Leia Organa / Skywalker. Where to begin?
The LIGHTSABER! Aside from the inclusion of a Red Kyber crystal, ( Which was impossible before Disney had to canonize it. *Synthetic Crystals were responsible for the Red coloring* ) and a cracked one no less. The First Order is so massively wealthy to the point of building a death-star ( And no, I'm not calling it a 'Star-Killer base'. )... Yet they can't manufacture one synthetic crystal... And so disney has justified a turn away from the original Samurai inspired Katana-like lightsabers in order to push for more of a broad-sword... For reasons unknown.
Kylo Ren the Sith! As a Sith? Kylo Ren is a joke. And not a good one. Early in the film Ren is shown stopping a blaster bolt in mid-air, maintaining enough focus to hold it there as he speaks with What's-his-face. Yet he couldn't sense the position of Rey as she watched over his confrontation with Han (And yes, It's shown later that Rey has a rather strong connection with the force.). Even later as he is fighting Finn (Yes I know he was shot by a Bowcaster that was shown throwing Stormtroopers through the air, although, If so, this should have blown his leg clean off. But, Disney, he needs to be alive for plot reasons. So meh. ) he is thrown about for a good while by Finn even though the man hasn't held a lightsaber / melee weapon in his life. And after this, he's crushed by a newly talented (Idefk) Rey. ( So, in essence, even with his leg in severe pain. *Though not enough pain to prevent him from walking on it* He was still unable to channel his own will of the force *Which we have seen as quite powerful on it's own* toward someone who has only just learned that she possessed the ability to use the force at all. (Don't even get me started on Rey's "Oh! I can Mind-trick now!" bit. ) ( I'd type more, mostly about Kylo's daddy issues. But the text-box is beginning to lag. So I'll leave it here. My opinion? He's the wussiest Sith I've ever seen. He has incredible control over the force, yet he can't use it to save his life. He's emotional *Not in the way that empowers the sith*, He's over-confident and he's got the fear-stricking features and voice of a nineteen year-old at a TOOL concert. )

You're being sexist and also Kylo Ren isn't a sith, and never claims to be one.

I don't think I was being sexist at all. Are you referring to the Daught-SON joke? Because that's all it was. As for using the word sith. I use it in place of typing out: 'User of the Dark side of the force'. A mouthful.

I just can't wrap my head around the idea of a moody teenager with daddy issues being the main protagonist in a Star Wars flick. Also, making him over-powered really messed with me, like force stopping that blaster shot.
