PostSubject: My fallout story   Sat Jul 05, 2014 12:41 am

As some of you may know I have been posting a (more or less) comic/story in the fallout screenshots section. I enjoy posting but have decided to go ahead and start my own thread so everything is in one section.

There are a few reasons as to why I am doing this, mostly because some people enjoy reading them but they quickly disappear between other posts. Others are that I don't usually post often so this way everything is in one area, instead of spread across 50+ pages.

so lets get this train wreck a rollin

As you know I finally made it to Nipton (yay) so let's see what's what.

Sneaky sneaky:

No signs of life so far, few people strung up, not good.....

Entered the general store, saw a powder ganger sitting nearby, he seemed surprised to see me. Told to talk or I'd break his legs, he said they were already broken.....

Sorry my bad:

Asked him a few questions and gave him some med-x, seemed to calm him down, he told me that the Legion had hit the town and killed pretty much everyone.

Legion....great....

Left him and headed outside, heard movement from the town center....

stay down, stay quiet:

Tried to move to a better position but got spotted by these bastards, was surprised when they didn't open fire right away.....

What does he want?:

Leader of the group was a wierd lookin man, and if it wasn't for the fact I was outnumbered I would have torn his head off. Wanted to talk, told me to spread word of what happened here, half temtped to tear his arm off and beat his friends to death with it, but in my position i could only agree.....next time....

Headed back to the Mojave Outpost, not sure how I got so lost it was only a stones throw away from Nipton (gotta get my pipboy checked). Went up to talk to Ranger Ghost, she was surprised about Nipton.

And not pleasantly:

Asked  if I could do anything else, she pointed me to somebody named Ranger Jackson, said he could use some help. Entered into the outpost proper when I was stopped by some guy behind the counter. Major by the emblem on his shoulder, asked me a question "Caravan, citizen, pilgrim, or...

Courier:

He seemed surprised by my answer, especially considering the gear I was carrying. Asked him about Jackson and he pointed me to the back, muttering something about couriers armed better than they were. Caught Jackson in the back and asked if he needed any help. Seemed surprised that I was asking, from the tone of his voice seemed he was having a hard time....

Seemed a good man:

Told me he couldn't get any caravans moving because of some critters up the road, offered to take care, not like I'm doing much else.....oh wait finding the guy who shot me.....screw it I'll find him later.

Made my way north to find a bunch of ants running around....this is what they were having problems with?

Kaboom:

I mean I understand a dozen of these things coming at you may be a problem.....

Incoming!:

But I mean come on!

More Kabooms:

No problems at all. In-out ten minutes. Done. Jackson was thankfull and gave me some supplies. Bunch of troopers can't deal with a few ants......for pete's sake....

Now what was I doing?

Right so I'm lost again, big surprise I know.

So I wound up heading north.....or northish......maybe......I think.....

Was getting dark and heard a storm coming, decided to spend the night in a cave. Unfortunately said cave was occupied. By geckos. Fire breathing geckos......just not my week....

Luckily I had a good chokepoint:

Storm was to bad outside to just leave, and they were not going to leave me alone. So of course that leaves only one option.

They have to die.

Dealing with giant lizards that breathe fire isn't really all that bad.....it's the fact that they breathe fire that's the problem.

I'm on fire!:

Clearing the tunnels wasn't all bad, few burns here and there, nothing serious though.

AGAIN!:

Eliminated the last of them finally and managed to get some sleep. Morning came and I decided to continue heading north.

Wait I needed to head south through Nipton then to Novac......

OK so I'm heading south back to Nipton (because I am a moron) and....yeah I'm lost again...

OK so now is it east from here or....which way is east.....stupid pipboy map not working again......I KEEP TELLING YOU I'M NOT IN DC STOP SHOWING IT! Knew I should have gotten the readius when I had the chance, but nooooo the old one works just fine I said.....

What's that skittering noise........

OH GOD DAMNIT!:

Bloody scorpions....wait Nipton is over there....see not lost! Well that is what I was going to say until the ground caved in under my feet. Going to be one of those days. Managed to crawl to my feet, no injuries, and when I say no injuries I mean yes I did fall flat on my back and it does hurt but I'm still breathing. No way out from where I landed, but there had to be a way out so in I go. More softer skittering noises, small scorpions, no problem. Entered into a large chamber, looked to be an exit on the far side. Saw some fresh cracked eggs nearby, And I found out today that momma scorpions don't like it when you shoot their babies. Boy was she mad, luckily I had plenty of ammo and a few explosives on me.

Note to self, avoid scorpions in the future:

Managed to find an exit and get the hell outta there. Made it into Nipton just after dark, don't feel like sleeping in a town of dead people so just gonna keep going.

Fear me:

All right a little bit of good news and a lot of bad news...

Bad news: I have to restart my playthrough, I decided to upgrade some of my mods and this caused a little snafu in which I couldn't continue. As such I have to restart my game.

Good news: I have my story up until Novac so I can, and will, still be posting. It is going to take some time to get to where I was, lost 30 hours of gameplay, but I can get back to it. Is going to be a bit though

Right so I'm heading through Nipton to Novac....I think.

Made to a small curve in the road, few cars piled up, and an overtuned truck. Decided to check the truck for supplies when I heard movement. High up far side....Ambush

Not a good position:

.44 revolver in the wreck of the car, instinct kicked in, grabbed it and opened fire.

Bang:

Midflight:

Caught her in the neck, took her head clean off...

ouch:

Two more from her side both armed with guns, three behind me two armed. Light caliber rounds, no real problem, .44 took them out just fine. Checked the bodies for anything usefull, found some ammo but not much else. Guns they were carrying were old and looked to barely fire, stripped them of any usefull pieces and continued on.

Saw movement to the south, decided to check it out. Geiger counter buzzed a bit(joy), saw some ghouls in the distance, feral and non. They didn't seem the friendly type, and I was right when they opened fire on me.

Luckily I had the bigger gun:

Managed to catch them more or less off guard

Boom head shot:

Ferals didn't seem to interested in the fire fight, lucky me, more of them than the smart ones.

Bang:

Ghouls from multiple places, raiders, slavers, NCR troopers. They share a common life I guess.

Drop him:

Don't like doing this unless necessary, but they did fire first, so it is just self defence. Granted i have the bigger gun, but I don't want my giblets eaten.

One left:

Have no real problem with ghouls unless they try to eat my giblets. Going to go ahead and eliminate the ferals to make sure the area is secure. Doubt any one would come out this far, but better safe than sorry.

Right, time to kill ferals:

Plenty of ghouls around, good number wearing NCR armor. Not a good sign.....

Took out the ghouls in the area with no real problem, popped some rad-x to calm my stomach. Moved out of the radiation area until I could find a hole to crawl in and sleep....

Radiation always makes me sleepy.

Woke up early the next morning, checked my face, nothing peeling off, that's good. Pulled myself out of the hole I was sleeping in and took a look around, saw some vultures in the distance circling a small farmstead.....

Not good:

Saw movement in the distance and decided to check things out...

Move up:

Bodies. Small family, striped clean of....everything. Clothes, meat, everything.....

Bodies:

Saw movement nearby, climbed up onto the roof for a vantage point. Legion. Four of them, three recruits one squad leader. Didn't think just acted.....

Drop em:

Four shots, killed three of them no problem, leader was still breathing. Decided to finish it personally, .308 ammo was expensive. Started mouthing off as I got closer, something about the glory of Ceaser and being put on a cross, I wasn't really listening....

One shot:

Went back to bury the dead, least I could do, checked inside when I heard movement and voices. Raiders from the sound of it, one of them was complaning about eating the family, somthing about saving the reamains for later....

Outnumbered:

Hopedthat they would wander off, no such luck, one stuck his head in and saw me, took it off. Others heard and started to open fire on me, my back was to a wall but I had plenty of ammo....

Stop shooting me!:

Don't know how I managed to kill them all, helped they only had limited guns and ammo between them. Buried the family, left the raiders for the elements. Headed east not long after. Made it to a small NCR outpost, guy in charge told me that the legion had set off some kind of radiation bomb, killed almost everyone there. Asked me to help but some of them to rest by bringing their dogtags....ok weird, but ok. Popped some rad-x before heading in, always helps, saw some old turret systems, not hard to bring them online. Jumped when I heard them kick on, I was not expecting them to be so close. Had to make a tactical retreat when it seemed like I woke up every ghoul in the town.

Turrets did most of the work, I just finished it:

Cleared out those that remained before heading back in. Checked a house to find a survivor who was a little.....

You know your face is peeling a bit?:

Spoke with him a bit before leaving, stayed to long. Rads were a bit high and I felt like i was going to puke. Managed to clear te rad zone and found a small farm, seemed abandoned. Checked inside the house but found no one inside. Removed my helmet and headed for the bed....

beeeeed:

Took some rad-away to calm my gut, helped, decided this bed was as good as any and passed out in it.....I think, I may have missed the bed and hit the floor.....

Right, so I'm awake, and I either fell off the bed or never landed on it.....Anyway I'm up so lets head out.

Early when I got up, checked around found nothing of interest so I headed back east. Went around Searchlight and ran into a few more ghouls, no problems, most were dead by the time the got to me. Came across a small shelter built up on the mountin side, looked like a sniper camp. Nobody had been here in days, occupants were long gone so I helped myself. Some food, ammo and a locked case, took a minute but I got it open.

Worth it:

Afterwords I headed north, ran into a small ranger outpost run by ghouls. Spoke to them a bit, looks like they are watching a small legion outpost nearby. When did the NCR become such wimps?

Hello:

Stayed for a bit before heading back west....I think. Came across a group of raider wandering about near a train tunnel entrance.

Big group:

Decided to get myself set up overlooking their base to take them out.

I see you....:

Members started yelling about something in the distance and the whole group went on alert....

Didn't see me did they?:

Got a good look at their weaponry, was not impressed, most weren't even armed with guns just knives.

Poor armament:

Body came flying out of nowhere, torn to bits, something big was coming.

Taken out:

Finally saw it, deathclaw. Big, mean, and hungry. It tore those raiders apart in a matter of seconds.

That ain't gonna help you:

Waited for him to eat his fill and wander off. Saw one of the raiders trying to get to the tunnel entrance. Might as well take them out, can't let the deathclaw have all the fun.....

What's that heavy breathing?:

Well I was right there are more raiders inside the tunnel, wait you wanna know how i escaped the deathclaw?

Magic.

Any way I did some looking and found they were mostly poorly armed and equipped, so there was no reason to be quite about it....

Rat-tat-tat:

It is amazing what a few well placed explosive grenades will do...

Kaboom:

Few members deeper in were better armed than the grunts up front. Still no match for me...

Kabangy:

Lost count of how many I killed, most just ran straight into the line of fire with nothing but a kitchen knife and the clothes on their back. Tracked the leader down in one of the deeper passages. Knew he was the leader because he had a missle launcher on him..... what kind of moron would fire a missle launcher two feet from the bunker they were hiding behind?

Didn't even have to shoot him, blew himself across the room.

Yep he's dead:

Had to stay in for a while, the deathclaw had brought friends to chew on some corpses. Must be a nest nearby, not going for it if I'm not getting paid.

Managed to sneak out while they were chewing on someone, left a few bits in a pile to draw them away. Headed northwords and came across a small ranger station...

Anybody home?:

Only two rangers on site, com officer and a sniper, rest were out on patrol. Com officer had no problems with me crashing the night, but I had to be gone by morning. No problem.

Was out the door just before sun up. Started heading northish to what I hoped was Novac, saw movement in the distance...

Eyes open:

Saw a small facility in the distance, looked like a water works or something. Mostly populated by lizards, they didn't seem to have a problem with me. Can't say the same for everyone else....

Did you do this?:

Body didn't have anything really usefull on him, just a small bottle of radioactive isotope. How did I know? that's what my pipboy told me it was. What you thought I was a genius or something? I got lost going from the Mojave outpost to Nipton. I can field strip and clean a rifle in under two minutes but I have a horrible sense of direction. Granted since my pipboy keeps showing me maps of every place but the Mojave I guess I have a good reason for getting lost. Is that a giant dinosaur in the distance?

PostSubject: Re: My fallout story   Tue Aug 05, 2014 12:33 am

Ok I'm back (sorta) and as to the reasons that I havn't posted in a while.

1: I'm lazy

2: Work

3: I have been playing other games

4: I have been waiting for some mods to update.

So this will also be the last one that I post and probably also the longest of this series. As I said I am waiting for some mods to update, mostly Millenia new weapons as he is going to be adding a PKM and I would like to get my hands on it.

Anyway, As I was heading to the giant dinosaur a sandstom hit and I was tossed about a bit. Came across a small building and managed to get inside but was unable to get the door shut all the way, plus some of the windows were blown out so I headed into the basement. Ran into some trouble right out the door as a ghoul decided to say hello...

Hello:

Took him out no problem and decided to head deeper in, not the best plan as the door sealed shut behind me.... Looks like I'm esplorin! Definatly a ghoul hot spot as I saw a few more ahead of me. Luckily I had the darkness and a suppressed pistol on my side.

Boom headshot:

Plenty of them ahead, but I had ammo to spare...

Splorch:

Ok so that's three....four?:

Wait.....I lost count....:

Whatever just keep shooting:

Midflight:

aaannnddd....:

Splat!:

Okay so I think that's all in this area....

Move up:

Wait something is glowing ahead...

Weapon ready:

Oh it's just another glowing one...

Ooga Booga:

And another shot to the head to kill it....plenty of them already....and I hear more ahead of me....not good. Entered into a service area and found an old rifle, little banged up but still operational. decided why not and took it with me(if anything I can sell it later). Rounded the corner and saw some more glowing in the next room, was going to take it out silently when one jumped from behind alerting the glower.

Managed to get them both though:

*grumble* *grumbling* *more grumbling noises* Getting annoyed by this, not sure how deep it is and how many there are. Came across two bodies, merc and a scientist, note on the body was them trying to figure out why there are so many ghouls down here.....

Rest in piece:

Looked around their base camp and found they were tring to hake into the central security system. Took some doing but managed to get the system more or less pluged into my helmet. EM scans showed me just how many there are....

Great...:

Started to check my gear before heading out. Pistol was good but not for bigger engagements, shotgun was locked and loaded and both rifles needed to be serviced before heading out. No luck on that though as a ghoul came round the corner and alerted all his friends to me, and all I had was a shotty loaded....

Line 'em up!:

Ran out of ammo as the last one got close to me so I cracked him upside the head with the butt of the shotgun, knocked him to the ground.

Now to reload!:

Last one started moveing as I finished reloading...

Don't get up:

Nothing new came running around the corner so I decided to check my rifle. Bit of sand in it but cleaned no problem. Slowly move forward and into another maintinance area. Sound of a cannon caught me off guard, I saw a ghoul in metal armor carrying a large rifle...

Luckily:

He missed:

I didn't:

Checked the body and took his anti-material rifle from him, mine now, saw an old elevator system with a ladder leading up. Climbed up to see that I was back in the small building, sandstorm had stopped and I was getting ready to head outside when I noticed I felt wet.....

I'd been shot......

Really wish more people were this creative when writing or doing a fanfic. Most of them are just blobs of text on a site/repository. It's nice seeing something creative like this for once.
