Would you see a Starwars film focused on Rebel and Imperial special forces?

They were never mentioned in Episodes 4-6.. 


It'd be cool if spies were thrown into the mix also, that doesn't mean there can't be Jedi's and other prominent figures in the movies, but they usually take the focus away from what are basically background characters.. (Rather than the main fighting force)

I think spies and double agents would be a good thing in the films, since it would show how both sides will use deception to their advantage, and the importance of military intel.

I thought the films never did the Clone Troopers or Storm Troopers justice, although the Storm Troopers are fighting for a fascist Empire..

I can't believe that all Storm Troopers are inherently evil, especially since the galaxy may not have that many jobs to offer for a middle class citizen. 

It'd be cool to see some Storm troopers with a heart, seeing Storm troopers who even had the audacity to disobey direct orders.

I agree with all your points and more Star Wars films can't hurt either. Your point about "middle class" Storm Troopers sort of reminded me about that scene in Clerks where they argue about the Death Star.

Anything Star Wars! Was skeptical about Disney taking over but VII looks good, and I'm always up for something new in one of my favourite universes.

Having a perspective from a different point of view instead of the heroes would create an interesting dynamic. This is exactly what I believe Rogue One will be focusing on. I hope Rogue One opens up this perspective and shows the gritty side of Star Wars. Republic Commando did an excellent job at establishing and elaborating on the darker aspects of the clone wars and that's what made it great for me. If this is executed properly in a film, I will be overjoyed. I also agree with what you said regarding how not all of the stormtroopers were evil. It would be interesting to add an actual sense of humanity within a stormtrooper. I enjoyed that aspect when I was reading the Star Wars comics and books. Getting a better look at Imperial special forces would be awesome nonetheless.

Original trilogy special forces..? Sure they exist but.. Clone Wars era Commandos.

They made books and a single game on them, if THAT game was around still today (as it should have been) it would truthfully be something probably up to par with games like Halo, CoD and Battlefield. Just wish there would have been a sequel...

Anyhow, if they did make a movie set in the Star Wars universe revolving around special forces I would 100% want to see them do something with the Commandos. I just find them the most interesting to be honest and would love to them expanded on more.

I think a good OT-era spinoff film about special forces could focus around the team who stole the Imperial Shuttle 'Tydirium' that Han Solo and Co use to sneak onto Endor. Give us a chance to see some rebel commandoes in action.

And it'll answer that age-old question - just how many Bothans died to bring us that information?

I would like something like that, a Star Wars special forces movie. It would be cool to see a Republic Commando movie or something like that.
