| I would choose Veronica as well, she can get her power armour to make her look intimidating and then she can get one of the energy weapons like a gauss rifle or gatling laser to deal with threats, or even just punch them with her powerfist.  Also she isn't annoying like some of the other people in fallout new vegas. |

| Definitely Fawkes haha. He's gentle and sweet at heart but intimidating as hell for anyone who doesn't know him or messes with me! He uses a huge super sledge and galting laser and is basically a tank that I could rely on in a fire fight!  |

| Oh damn, now that's a difficult question.
There are the badasses that have been mentioned. Boone, Optimus Liberty Prime, Joshua Graham, Fawkes etc.
Then there's the obvious choice of The Protagonists, though depending on how you play they could have a habit of loosing/killing their companions.
I think ultimately I'd go with my favourite character in all of Fallout; Moira Brown. Though I think we wouldn't travel all that much, considering neither of us are big adventurers. We're more the kinda funny, kinda smart, kind-of-annoying type of person that stays inside and does...stuff. |

| I'm mostly a Lone Wolf in both FO and TES. Companions just aren't my thing.
Though if I had to pick mostly I would pick Fawkes: Loyal, badass and strong as hell.

| Just anyone? Oh god, too much to choose from... I'm not sure if Liberty Prime counts as a character... Now that i think of it, having him follow you in a real life situation would be a bit difficult to say the least. I'll go with Frank Horrigan. If it was just followers, i'd pick Fawkes, because he's a tank, but also good-hearted and intelligent. |

Speaking about protection - I can take care of it myself. | Ulysses would protect you from things you wouldn't even see coming, although he makes for some pretty grim company I can imagine he'd keep you safer than most. |
