Hello! I decided to sign up here after hearing on a gaming Discord about GUNetwork being a nice community.

I'm interested in some mod concepts like creating new outfit/weapon mods and also combat poses/animations. My thinking is it will be best to choose something to create that others will be interested in, so that experienced modders might take an interest. The hardest part will no doubt be the first few projects as the results might not be exciting. Hopefully it might lead to some feedback & opportunities for learning, which could lead to more exciting results later.

For Fallout 4 & Skyrim. It's kind of funny since I prefer fantasy settings usually but like Fallout 4 as a game a bit more than Skyrim (Love Settlements!).

Hey mate glad you decided to join GUN. Modding can be hard but if you work hard for something you will eventually do it, just dont lose your passion. There's lots of tutorials here that can help you, check them out oh and welcome again.

Narrowing down the details a bit for what really grabs you, will help those who who can help, find the info or help you seek. Look around the site maybe and pick some forum threads that get your interest. Learning opportunity can easily spring from that. Enjoy.

Fallout 4 & Skyrim. I prefer Fantasy settings in general but don't love the aesthetic of Skyrim, guess I preferred how Oblivion looked in terms of artstyle. I might have outfit be for both games since there's the Hubris Comics/Grognak angle in Fallout. Fallout 4 got me hooked with the Settlements mode. Also I'm unsure if my storage is enough for a decent SSE install.

I think one of the tricky parts will be deciding what exactly I want to make. Doing what I want would mean probably making Final Fantasy outfit like Cloud Strife or Squall or Auron. Maybe some World of Warcraft stuff like T1/T2 stuff. But going by Nexus, Female is what is popular, everybody seems to play as female and the top 3D artists on there make things for female characters. Niero seems like only one to do stuff also for males. I would most like to have ability like him but that is a long road since I think he is even better than a lot of Pro Game Devs. Getting there will probably require connecting with talented 3D artists, maybe kind of like mentors or something. What grabs me are JRPG/old school designs but I know that's kind of niche stuff.

What I'd do for compromise would be trying something like female Fire Emblem character, or I might do female World of Warcraft designs. I think nintendo really against fan works(Though the Fire emblem idea basically would just be like an OC Lord design anyways.) so might do the Wow idea, like for instance I particularly like Paladin/Death Knight armor, T2 Judgement might be my favorite from the game. Thinking about this today, this might be a great route since the outfit can be for both genders. Key goal will simply be for growth since expecting show stoppers for 1st attempt probably isn't realistic. When I get some more ability I might think about a "Japanese/old school RPG styled armor set for Skyrim". Like replacers for each base game armor type. Not much of a pen & paper/painting IRL kind of artist so IDK about full original designs.

I've got 3DS Max, ZBrush & Photoshop though I find Photoshop quite confusing and still really new at ZBrush(Plus I think I basically need a prototype model anyways). Have done a little bit with 3DS & I used to convert for body type on Oblivion using Blender quite a long time ago.
