Hello everyone. To be honest I didn't really know about this site until recently but I found out you guys have some truly awesome looking mods that aren't available on the Nexus, so this seems like the place to be. Thanks everyone for helping me make my New Vegas as cool as it can be.

@RustedMachine nice to meet you and welcome to GUN. You're in the right place indeed, also because we're a smaller community than Nexus, (that I respect deeply as I'm also a member there) but we have the advantage to have :
• Less members and problems than a much bigger community, as problems grow in proportion, so that staff here is more diplomatic, comprehensive, (but do not abuse huh ?) and less tempted to apply rules strictly to the book,
• Our administrators (overseers) seem to have a smooth view of the ensemble and particularly opened mind, doubled with natural common sense of leadership, (I observed this multiple times since I'm here, staff is not here to sanction members, rather to guide them... with intelligence and discussion, (they always take the time to explain). Of course there are examples of people banned or demoted, diplomacy has it's limits right ?).
• Demotion here is usual, (see https://www.gunetwork.org/t12284-promotions-how-to-get-mod-access) but nothing is definitive, demoted members can regain their rank in no time, just read, you'll undertstand how things work here. This is I think a good dynamic, that helps to keep the community in movement forward.
• Numerous good threads here, mods, technicals, thoughts, but also silly threads, (I love them) that help members to post when they have nothing to say, (you'll see regularly my participation in these topics).

All of this to say, YES WE HAVE VERY GOOD MODS here, but...the best of GUN is "come for the mods and stay for the community" and if you stay enough long here, (why wouldn't you huh ?) you'll see why.

Finally, may be you are an experienced player I do not know, in the doubt, I suggest you to take a look at my sig, (FNV) you may have there usefull tips and leads that may help you to mod your game. Do not hesitate to create your own topic and ask for help, we'll answer

Hey, thanks for the welcome. I plan on staying a while at least and seeing what's what. I have a little experience modding my game but I've never made any mods myself, although that's something I think I'd like to get into.

@RustedMachine Hey, it's a new guy! Welcome to GUN Network. You are in the right place, unlike the Nexus, while we're a smaller community, we're more tight knit, our staff are SUPER communicative and are fair and honest, and the members (including myself) are welcoming and kind to any and all new individuals. The Nexus also has the problem of trying to be something it isn't, it started out as a gaming community for mods I think but it grew into a strictly modding site where you download mods, and HAVE the option to comment, suggest, report, etc. But its also trying to be its old self, a community. You can't be both unless you tie both together and you have to do it in a way thats unique like GUN network, GUN requires you to register for the public mods and you also have a good chance to be a part of the community, the main site has both the mods and the community in one place. If you keep posting and are a standup guy, you'll get promoted which gets you exclusive private mod access which if you ask me, most of the best mods are available to you as I type this, so yeah. Meanwhile, Nexus has its mods on one site which is the most popular and then its forum on another site. Plus, its just not as welcoming and kind as GUN. It's like comparing a small town to a big city, both have their pros and cons but one will definitely be more welcoming and peaceful than the other.
