This Creation Kit generally works exactly the same as Skyrim's. You can make your own mods and upload them wherever. I just did so myself.

Beth-Net is going to be the platform that Xbox One and PS4 will access, though PC can also access it.

@dazzerfong I know a small amount of modding. Like creating an npc. As for my leadership I'm pretty good where that stands. We already have four professional modders on the team.

As long as using Bethesda's site for getting mods isn't mandatory, I'm fine with it. I just won't use it.

Pretty obvious only mods for consoles will be models and textures. Anyone's seriously expecting any seriously scripted mods being even allowed on consoles? But i don't care what is available for consoles anyway.

But as soon as Bethesda tries to limit modding to their site only, I'm forever done with their games.

With no community mods FO4 is a weak game anyway, can't stand up to Skyrim or FNV. beth takes away modding, beth takes away any reason to bother with their most modern game.

@Satapatis: Yeah, no. Not even remotely true. You might not have access to script extenders, but anything short of that is fair game for consoles.

Can't imagine how long will be curation period for scripted mods. Or if Bethesda really wants to employ people for reviewing scripts in mods, because you can totally break a save game with a wrong script. With Papyrus scripts are part of the save now.
And you won't fix a save on a console. No saves editors or cleaners either.

Hopefully Bethesda realises what they're going into. Otherwise it will be as successful as paid mods on Steam.

Things like animations always could be implemented without a toolkit.
You "only" need someone who can build a new animation. Smile

Had access to the beta, its really confusing compared to the Skyrim CK & GECK from FNV. Why can't I change animations on guns? It's really weird.

@Satapatis Trying something new is always going to have issues in the beginning. Having mods on consoles though is very worth the initial hiccups. As far as I know this is new ground. Yes people have been modding their console games but never in legitimate ways. Mods is why I went back to PC gaming. If this works, it can mean other companies might follow suit.

Well, if that's true, then I haven't seen any.

Although, things like armor mods and etc will improve significantly, but still. SMG animations.

hm,looks awesome.especially the vehicle like walking thing,not sure what it is but i hope you can controll it.
imagine the possibilities.
can't wait for the big mods to roll out,the little retex and weapon mods were starting to bore me a bit.
