PostSubject: FNV Performance Tweaks   Mon Mar 28, 2016 9:58 pm

Hey everybody at GUN,

My performance in NV has never really bothered me, I get 60 fps in doors and outdoors the better side of 35+, although lately it's been getting to me.

I'm interested to know if anybody has any performance tweaks they suggest. I use ENBoost, no ENB because 4GB & Win 10 don't work in correspondence with ENB. I use no Antisotropic Filtering, no Anti-Aliasing, although I do use Ojo Bueno. I use Dynavision, Transparency Multisampling, High Radial Blur, and everything else maxed out to Ultra settings.

I use many mods to replicate the feel of ENB, including Wasteland Lighting Overhaul, Interior Lighting Overhaul, and many shading tweaks of Dynavision 3.

My goal is 60 fps flat outdoors.
Here's the specs:

XFX R9 390X
16 GB DDR3 RAM
AMD A8-7650k
Win 10

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks all!

If you don't already have the New Vegas Stutter Remover I'd recommend you try it.The New Vegas Stutter Remover helped my frame rates stabilize for a long time now, I'm not really sure if it will do the same to your game but its worth a try.

Check your CPU usage and see if it's topping out at 2 threads. If it is, your CPU is too weak single-thread wise, considering FNV does not scale well to CPU's at all.

Also check using normal textures (set to just high or medium) vs ojo bueno (assuming you're using fomods and have the patience). On another note, I've noticed that Dynavision, while great, can cause quite a performance hit on low to mid systems.

I use performance of the gods and I never experience crashes.
