Energy Weapons. Then maybe Barter, because Energy Weapons are quite expensive to maintain and the ammo is not exactly cheap either.

Repair because I abuse almost every gun I get my hands on lol. It's really bad when your in the middle of a firefight and your service rifle is about to break.

I normally max out speech early on so I can pass all the speech checks in most quests, and max out medicine or repair second.

Usually guns is my first choice, if I'm in hardcore mode I max out survival though.

I feel boring for saying this, but pretty much the same as everyone else:
Guns, speech and repair are the go to skills. Especially speech. So OP.

I always max out repair to save on caps early on then i focus on medicine too heal more effectively or guns for sniping

I max out sneak or repair first, Sneak for attack bonus and Repair to save caps early into my playthrough.

I level skills up only to a point where I can get my favourite perks.
Explosives and Repair 45: Mad Bomber Sneak 60: Mister Sandman Melee Weapons 45: Super Slam (I prefer sneaking up on people, knocking them down and then shooting them or placing a bomb on them and running)

I have to say that i always level my speech first keeping it just above repair and that just above medicine, keeping my weapons and health at the max all the time is a quirk of mine

In new vegas repairs then guns then sneak and then i go for speech and medicine
In skyrim i go 4 smithing then armor (heavy or light) then weapon (archery,2 handed,1 handed :D depends on my roleplay ) and lastly the other skils that are required 4 the roleplay element of my class (sneak,alchemy etc.)

I level up repair all the way. It's fun to be able to have really good quality weapons and whatnot.
