 Xbox one fallout 4 mods?

PostSubject: Xbox one fallout 4 mods?   Sun Jul 19, 2015 2:46 am

I just heard that the Xbox one version of fallout 4 will now be able to get mods from the pc to the console is this true or false I heard that the developers of fallout 4 said this in one of there conferences with the reporters.
If this was already posted I am sorry.

it's true, bethesda confirmed mods on both consoles doing there e3 showing. They will be able to install mods onto there console made by players on pc, my guess, it will be link to the steam workshop, just not sure on how many can be installed

My guess is the mod limit will be on HDD space, but anything could happen.

Personally I would love it if there is a tool to just connect directly to your XBOX to install mods (no Steam required)- that way we can continue having fun mods. Plus I rather enjoy running around with stuff from other games in FO.

A lot of folks enjoy that, but Bethesda [for the most part] can never ever legally encourage or allow that.  Most folks are speculating that Bethesda will host or subcontract for someone to host a sort of mods hub for consolemods for their games and they would get their pants sued off if they let it happen.  Any service that they build into the game or they design the game to work with would have that limitation on it.

...that's where underground sites and third party applications might come in.

I doubt that they will be really advanced and complicated mods because I seriously doubt that there will be some sort of downloadable script extender so don't expect anything like project Nevada or any highly scripted mods like that

I would personally like to see a nice little hub built into the main menu of the game. Nothing fancy, just a simple sub-menu set up into categories. Something that's easy for everyone to use, even people who've never modded before. It's a revolutionary idea. It's nice to see that Microsoft is chilling down a little bit and beginning to allow mods on their console. It's a big step for the industry as a whole.

It's not really anything to do with Microsoft, most likely it will be set up more like unofficial DLC as far as the console itself would know.

Doesn't Microsoft forbids anything that modifies their console otherwise they'd ban the user if found the console modified? This is to reduce the hacking I believe.

I'm pretty sure (too lazy to look it up right now) that our lord and savior Todd Howard hinted at getting mods for PS4, but he stated that Xbox One was already on board.

I think he mention in a interview that ps4 may get modding as well. But it is confirmed that xb1 will be compatible with mods just not sure to what extent. I dont think we will see any type of texture or enb mods for the one due to hardware limitaions but i can see things like weapon and armor mods happening

I found an interview on IGN. Todd talks all about how mods on the console are going to work. I'm a recently new member so unfortunately I cant post the link, but it shouldn't be too hard to find! It definitely sheds some light on console mods.

Right. We're talking about game mods, not console mods. As far as the XBone is concerned it would be no different than a different font in a word processor for example. The mods are internal to the game and don't involve the console itself.

Yeah, not having the script extender will hinder a lot of mod development but we won't know how all of this could work until it's finally out. I'm sure Bethesda has this all sorted out. Who knows, console mods could be huge flop, or it could be the next greatest thing! I'm really excited to see how all this will pan out over the course of the next year!
