The one thing I would have loved in Fallout New Vegas would have been able to carry on with the game after you finished it. Whatever path you took affected how the wasteland was after you finished the game, whether it was taken over by the Legion, NCR, House or the Courier. You just have to think of the modding potential for Quest mods with that. I would have taken a proper ending over the DLCs anyday.

More cowboy stuff.
I love the western feeling NV gives. I just wish the put in more stuff in it. Like showdowns, ranchs, desperados, etc.
I just loved the whole Jacobstown showdown between you and the guys pretending to be NCR. But also more cowboy like outfits and things like that.
Thats why I never leave Goodsprings without all those lovely cowboy mods like NVB

@ZombieRedNeck
Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I loved the Western Feel which you can see from my Profile Pic lol. For outfits Spice of Life is good for a more modern day Cowboy look. That's what I usually use.

I use the gunslinger armor, or spice of life, and Drags stuff is really good for that gambler or bounty hunter look.
Hell, I love Raul because I feel like its an old clint eastwood movie with a mexican bandito and a nameless avenger saving the Mojave.

More survival like armor, Armor that fits the game more perfectly would do it for me! Smile Also so more power armors.

Personally, I did want a much larger map with Vegas, as well as some variation in the world, like seeing the raiders and super mutants in D.C streets fighting in FO3. I agree with BillyJonn and Zombie Redneck about the Western approach that made it feel different compared to fallout 3. I didn't like the legion though, the concept of them works, however it makes the game so black and white. I wish they had a more stable engine and some better graphics. I would like to see armor and weapons physical degradation other than the jamming.

What I felt was missing is some more backstory for the legion, as I've said before, we should've been shown what life in the legion was like.
Also the BoS should've been a major faction (with its own outcome), it's ok if they started from Hidden Valley and you could work all the way up to make them the controlling power of the Mojave.

I miss the ability to actually join the factions in NV. A huge NCR questline in which you become a ranger would be really cool. It would add much stronger sense of belonging and your own choice. I mean sure I would probably end up being a lonely wanderer either way but it would be nice to have the choice. So that and probably more in depth unarmed system that would actually make unarmed combat relevant.

This.
Or a legion frumentarii, because in this factions you do ALL the work for them, get them the dam, and they still treat you as 'outsider' or 'soldier'.

I wish there were more "random" encounters.

It also would have been cool if the factions could make alliances with each-other to answer deeds the other factions did.

If I remember you were suppose to see Arizona a little I think? It was going to be Legion territory and you were going to see what life was like under Caesar's rule.

Like Chillin said, I definitely would have liked vegas to have been expanded, especially freeside, westside and north vegas. They could have had so many more casinos and bars. I don't know how well it would have fit with the 50s theme Fallout uses, but I think Nightclubs on the strip or around the vegas could have been really cool as well. There could have been crime families running these places and other rackets like brothels, drug labs, etc. There could have been a big quest line which allowed you to work with one of them during a big war with the other families. Hell if they wanted to keep Vegas largely unpopulated and developed like they did, they could have just created New Reno and let us do it all over there. I'm hoping Fallout 4 will be a bit more gritty than New Vegas was.

I hope it's not too gritty, but if it is I really hope there's some funny or lighthearted stuff, or something like the Wild Wasteland trait, so people who enjoy a sillier Fallout could still get their wishes.

I do wish the Strip and New Vegas as a whole was a lot bigger and more fleshed out to show what kind of place it really was.

Oh no I didn't mean the whole game be gritty. I still love Fallout's humor but I would like some serious tones to the story as well.

I think it would be nice to have a nice balance of mood whiplash, don't use it too much to get use to it but just enough to set the mood. I just hope there's not too many sadistic choices, such as Lilys quest or the sharecroppers farm one. I want to feel like I'm actually questioning what I did if it was right instead of "Do you want bad choice or bad choice?"

I wish under slung grenade launchers were a thing, or Barrel mounted bayonets, hell I'd want them just for looks rather than anything!

I had that problem with those quests too. Epically the sharecropper one. First time I did it I thought the Vault Dwellers would already be dead because I wasn't sure how long they had been trapped for. So I decided to save the crops instead. I later found out that they were still alive so now everytime I do that quest I'm faced with a dilemma. I want to save the crops, but I don't want to kill the survivors now I know they're still alive.

There's actually a mod in development for a underslung grenade launcher actually I remember seeing it some time ago.

Yeah I don't mind ambigious quests that have a good and bad, but morally questionable stuff shouldn't be "Oh do you want bad option A? Or bad option B?" I mean I guess for example look at ED-Es questline had you either going to the Followers or the Brotherhood, their reasonings were both different, you could feel like maybe something was up with both sides but you're not really sure what it was.
