I'm glad consoles are gonna be able to get mods! Now my brother can feel the power of them! But they probably won't have mods like the script extenders unless they made it with the game or something like that. Otherwise, I'm happy.

From what they've said, they'll allow all mods on console aside from pornographic and ripped content since it'll be available from Bethesda instead of third-party sites. All the script extender crew would need to do is pack it in whatever file format they choose (probably a FOMM-similar file or a .BSA) since the consoles don't allow you do add files, it'd need to be registered as, at least on PS4, a DLC file which would download and extract into the appropriate game files,. Include a script/bat file that would rename "Fallout 4.exe" on consoles to "Fallout 4_Vanilla" or "Fallout 4_Old" and change "FO4SE.exe" (I'm assuming that'll be the name) to "Fallout 4.exe."

I'm curious to see how this will play out on consoles as well. This will be a great opportunity for those without the capability on PC to experience if not all, at least some of the great mods that keep games like this going on for years

I imagine that it will be very similar in nature and function to Valve's built-in Workshop Support that Skyrim has, but with more of a non NSFW-in nature mods, so will we be seeing consoles getting the same retextures for character models as that will be made for PC? Probably not, unless they specifically make one following those guidelines in mind anyways. So the way that Bethesda is gonna be handling porting mods to console, is Bethesda gonna have a review board for allowing mods to be sent to console?

The TLDR version is, consoles won't get mods that could affect the game's rating, or copyrighted stuff (unless there's some kind of situation like Microsoft saying 'sure, you can use Master Chief armor for mods').

Now that would be something! Allowing mods that 'promote' Microsofts 1st party brands! I can already see the chief mods. Which I think may be pretty cool. Would love a Spartan Locke armor mod, personally.

Tood Howard actually cited a situation where it wouldn't be allowed, unless they get permission from Microsoft to do something like that. So I imagine it isn't entirely outside the realm of possibility.

They have said that actually go look at their terms of service, its even in my mk117 armor mod. at the bottom. The reason why the nexus will not allow it is well the nexus makes lots of money off of mods and that's where the legal fun comes into play.

Pretty much any mod that requires a script extender or a texture mod will not be able to work on a console. The people who play on consoles would be able to get very basic/simple mods.

I think it'll be really hard for Microsoft to implement a lot of the mods the mod creators will be coming up with for Fallout 4 from PC to XB1. The announcement was huge and I'm sure wow'd many players but I just think that for the most optimal experience, people should lean towards a PC to enjoy a majority of the mods

I just get the PC version for mods to be honest. First I'm getting Xbox One version, THEN PC. Because my Xbox runs better than my PC which is getting to be a few years old. And Gaming laptops aren't really meant to last very long.

I doubt any of the modders will even put any mods on the console plus the don't have the script extender and also, the console guys will be begging "where can I get this, where can I finds this" about a mod and the makers will say it's PC only then adding fuel to the fire for this "console war" thing. idk man.
