So essentially, what kind of weapon concepts have you come up and would like to see in Fallout? Maybe if enough cool concepts are posted and enough people take interest in them, they will come true. You never know.

Here's a few of my own to get started:

-Inspired by Dead Rising 2's weapon combining at workbenches, I thought those existing weapons could be brought into Fallout, and the idea expanded upon. I mean, in a Wasteland where weapons are scarce, it would make sense to improvise, don't you agree? Smashing together hilarious contraptions with a bit of nails and duct tape in practice essentially requires you to do the exact same in nifskope, that is, smash them together, and add a bit of duct tape and nails.

Different effects like electrifying and freezing people solid can be achieved through the GECK rather easily, and I've done it myself a few times. New Vegas' workbench and recipe system makes the idea very easy to implement.

-I thought the idea of holdout weapons was interesting, and it made me think of the following: a Bladed Dress Cane

Remember how the switchblades fold when you holster them? Yeah, add that to the tip of a Dress Cane and you're good to go. If you want to have one of those Dress Canes that have a sword in them, you could do it the same way as the GRA Katana: using the dress cane as a "holster" and making a small sword fit inside it. Your character would then pull it out of the cane.

Mine is fairly simple in concept - bow & arrow. If ammo is so scarce, then it is a natural fallback.

Biggest limitation that I'm not sure if there's a way to pull in the animations from elsewhere (Skyrim or Oblivion) to do this though...

A Bow & Arrow in fallout would be prety awesome, I hope someone could use the animations from skyrim for it
And junk guns, But I'm already working on that...the junk gun was just a small part of the gun pack

Well, there was this, which had the pull animations too, but it seems that it was never released. Pity.

And this was all the way back in 2010. I wonder why the mod maker scrapped it.

Sounds like a really cool weapon, it would be especially great if it electrocuted, knocked back or stunned enemies if they didn't die, it really would bring the feeling of a high-voltage cannon. Maybe something similar to the Compliance Regulator from HH, but with a bit more kick?

Yeah, that's a little disappointing for sure! Hopefully they include something like this in Fallout 4 (it'd be a great Tribal default weapon).

Personally, something I'd like to see is a more expansive repair system. For instance, disassembling weapons and armour to repair other weapons and armour would likely leave behind spare parts that could be used to, in turn repair other weapons and armour, or be crafted into new items.

Yeah, it would be a great stealth weapon, and I'd love to craft special arrows that are set on fire, or have explosives on them. I could actually create those arrows in the GECK myself, but no bow, so why make the arrows?

For now, we at least have the crossbows.

So essentially, the Jury Rigging perk, but more realistic?
Repairing stuff with parts from a similar weapon does leave plenty of spare parts. Maybe they could be added to a repair list (the list of items each weapon can be repaired with). And have workbench recipes for disassembling weapons that give you the parts.

@Ericbaum Ten

So I was thinking, it leaves that "ball" around the impact when it hits, right? Maybe we could make it a AOE, with the critical effect of the Nuka-Breaker (electrocution) and the enemies in the blast radius being knocked off their feet.

Though if it was going to be that powerful it should use like 10-15 EC's per shot, to keep it not being overpowered. That is, if it gets done. It would be cool to establish a little workshop to make our concepts come true, if more people took interest in such a project.

Imagine that - a weapon pack with a little touch from all of us. That would be pretty amazing, actually. And unique.

Yeah, I think they're pretty good. It reloads like a crossbow would reload.

It uses the Dart Gun's animations I think, which was essentially a makeshift crossbow anyway.

It also has the Half Life 2-ish crossbow in the files section, if you liked that game.
