 Help with making a quest mod.

Hi I am Alpha, I am trying to improve one of my old mods. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/50616/? I made this mod a while back, mainly due to the lack of good sentry bot companions at the time. I do like him but I was wanting to try and make him a bit more special. So I thought why not try and give him a proper quest line. The issue is I have no clue how to make quests for Fallout new vegas, let alone make a good quest line.

So I came here to get help/advice/ suggestions. For the story of the quest line I am torn between 2 ideas. One where you go fight through an old military facility for treasure, or option 2 hunting down a newly organized group of ghoul communists. I also wanted to give alpha 115(the sentry bot's name) a nice useful perk at the end of the quest line. I am not sure what kind of perk he should give.

I will also say in advance anyone who helps(giving good advice/tips/etc) will be properly credited for helping me.

Oh hey alpha! Since you inspired me to make my sentry bot companion it only makes sense that I help you with yours. I'd recommend starting out by looking at Bethesda's quest tutorial to see how quests work and on how to make one. As for the quest line, I find that going through an old world military facility would be much more interesting. Once you are ready to start the actual quest let me know and I'll help you from there.

Cool looking mod. I have no experience making mods, but I can offer suggestions on what I as a player would prefer.
As for the quest, both sound promising. Though I suppose if you go through the old military facility the treasure could be an upgrade for alpha 115. That would explain where the new perk comes from.
Though like I said both sound interesting.
For the perk I would prefer that it not be something like making all robots non-hostile, in case you were considering that. That would be overpowered in my view. Maybe something that mildly increases alpha 115's firepower or armor. Though that might be too boring or mundane perhaps.
How about a stealth field affect that alpha 115 activates when you sneak, but which it has to deactivate and wait a second to divert power back to weapons before it can attack? I've never used the GECK, so I don't know how feasible that would be though I'm afraid.
Sorry if none of that was any help. Anyway, like I said, cool looking mod.

Thanks for the help hopper. I will read the quest tutorial tomorrow morning, sadly just got home from my job.
