Nexus-mod is a good site and they have exceptionally talented modders and great mods.And who am I to judge them anyway...

There is a lot of red tape when it comes to porting/using copyrighted content. Some companies like CD Projekt Red don't mind, but others will come down on Nexus with the wrath of a hundred lawyers.
So its not that Nexus is an evil regime out to stifle creativity... they just don't want to be sued.

In addition Nexus does make a profit from hosting mods. As Tes said if they hosted ported mods they will get sued.
