If you have Luck 8 or more you can easy win in the casinos. Another way is you complete the Dead Money DLC and take the gold bars drom the vault and sell them.

Selling weapons for the most of time. Once I've put the max sum on number 23 on roulette and I won and my luck isn't that high. Of course the gold bars from Dead money earned me a lot of money, but I've needed to leave almost all my other stuff in Sierra Madre because of weight

I always pick up cigarettes, energy weapons and booze to sell. Oh, And converting Legion money into chips and then into caps.

Well heres the easiest way: if something is worth 300 - 8000 caps, pick it up. And sell it, but balance it out so you don't get over encumbered.

Most of the time I will collect the armor, weapons, etc. of enemies I've killed mostly 90% of the time 3 or 4 guys will be using the same gun or armor. Repair the ones that I can to full condition to get the most value out of it, (and to reduce the weight I'm carrying). Then sell it to the nearest merchant. Most of the time They won't have enough caps to buy everything I'm selling to them, BUT if there selling weapon mods then I'll buy those. Since weapon mods are always weightless, and can sell for a high price.

Just do quests and sell stuff. I've always gotten enough caps from quests. By far though if I just had to go on a spending spree I just used my little friend ~

Get your luck to ten and then gamble, gamble, gamble until you are kicked out of all of the casinos. And then kill the White Glove Society after getting the profit out of them because they are cannibals. At least, that's how I get my hard earned income.

Normally it is through Bounty Hunting, my usual style of play as a Merc/Bounty Hunter Assassin.
I also usually take over the Lucky 38 and earn big caps as a casino owner.

you could also make alot of money in the DLC Dead Money theres a vault full of gold if you have alot strength and not much loot you can get very rich from it

Repairing and selling the loot from my victims in the wasteland to anyone who will buy them.

Fully repairing everything weapon and armor, selling bent tin cans etc.

By stealing everything that isn't nailed down throughout the Mojave. Yeah I might have bad karma but a few thousand caps to the Followers should do the trick.

Also being able to trick individuals out of their hard-earned caps is a nice asset. As for the casino life well just remember some basic math, If someone is subtracting from your profits, you should add a few holes in their body.

And lastly...watch out for Wind Brahmin.

...joking aside, when I'm doing a serious playthrough and not being a pathetic console cheater, I scavenge whatever I find throughout my journeys in the Mojave and sell them to vendors. That's pretty much it, besides earning them from quests.

once im done with casinos i normally raise barter to 100 and do the thorn quest you make a lot of money with the barter checks from that
snowglobes, the platinum chip delivery, caravan recently are all my ways of making caps

Well here's a way! step 1: press the ~ in game 2: put in player.additem f (desired amount) 3: hit enter then boom!

Dead prospectors/traders/soldiers/raiders that died without your help. Sometimes different factions like to lock horns with each other. When they do there's always plenty of loot left lying around and nobody bothers to pick it up. Their loss really.
