Help with porting mods from Fallout 3 to New Vegas, removing masters

Hi VGU,
I recently downloaded a couple good mods for Fallout 3. Unfortunately, on my pc Fallout 3 doesn't work for some reason, so I decided I would try to port those mods to Vegas. Now, these mods are basically about sound files and textures working as overlays, meaning that they shouldn't be tied to any Fallout 3 file. My idea was to remove the reference to Fallout3.esm and add one to FalloutNV.esm and see if it's as simple as that or if I need to work on it (note that it would be for personal and private use, no stealing mods or anything). Now, every program I know that is capable of changing masters, also requires such masters to be present, so that you can load the mod and then change it. Any chance I'll be able to bypass this problem?

If I remember well TESSnip doesn't require the master. You can give it a try, you can find it on top menu in FOMM

However what you have in mind will work only if the assets are really used in NV, not all the assets of FO3 are present in NV.

The mod is basically about visor overhauls, so I'm expecting it to work with only a few tweaks.. Thanks for the reply!

If nothing else works, you can download Tale of Two Wastelands to play Fallout 3 in New Vegas then follow the conversion process to add mods from Fallout 3 into both games.
