I'm more inclined to use Raul and Veronica.

Hmm that's a tough one. In FO3, I always had Dogmeat with me wherever I went, and Fawkes was literally invincible in that game. But in NV I would have to say Boone just because of his versatility. My current companion I've brought almost everywhere with me in the Mojave now is Dragbody's very own Riddick. Just the thought of Vin Diesel at your side in the wasteland is flippin cewl. Plus he kicks major ass with melee weapons and is an overall badass. So safe to say, Riddick is my all-time fav.

I like my version of Dogmeat - my 205 year old ghoul panther named Kamau. I do wish I knew a way to merge my catmeat mod with the dogmeat functionality mods - that would make Kamau perfect.

Funny story, one time I bled out to the point I blacked out. As the screen was going dark, I hear a distinctive crunch, then my last save reloaded. Since no monsters were around, I am forced to assume Kamau ate me. So he's like a real cat in every way.

OMG that is terrifying yet epic on sooo many levels! I've been taking a break from FO3 for a while but when I get back into it I'm definitely going to try that mod.

FNV Vanilla: my fav has always been ED-E.

Fallout 3 mod, probably Amanda (Ties That Bind)

Fallout New Vegas Vanilla, probably Veronica. Among the quest givers who follow you around she has the best personality in my opinion
Fallout New Vegas mod, either Willow or Vanessa, although if Lunette ever gets a voice actress she could take the top spot.

I currently still have Fallout 3 on console, but working to get it on PC, since it's not all that expensive. Fawkes was easily the most trusted companion for me; I've never felt safer with any other companion.

Back when I use to play Fallout: New Vegas for console, my friend (long time Fallout player) recommended Ed-E, and as I played through, I could easily see why. I had the Wild Wasteland perk, so it was kind of fun seeing and hearing him in action. Lonesome Road Ed-E is no exception. Also "[sneaky beeping]"

For PC Fallout: New Vegas, I use RobCo Certified, and I usually make a fully upgraded eyebot, also accompanied by a Walking Eye, which is pretty fun to have around. I should experiment with the Mad Scientist perk because...Cyberclaws.

Veronica - she rocks that power armor/fist like a boss, and she perhaps has one of the most interesting companion quests :-)

Gotta be honest none of the NV companions were that great.

EDE would probably be the best. The grandma super mutant was unique too.

For Fallout 3, I liked Fawkes and Dogmeat.

I liked Arcade Gannon, his witty humour and slight self-grading speech was amusing to me.
I liked Veronica too, I guess.

Anyway, who's your favourite vanilla companion, and why?

Agreed, they are my two choices ALWAYS!

I have to say, Raul is my favorite. He's funny,  and one tough son of a gun. I guess being over 200 years old makes you quite resilient.

I like him too, he's my third favorite Vanilla companion (Behind Gannon, and ED-E)

My all time favorite quote in the entire fallout universe,while doing the come fly with me quest, Raul comments "don't eat me, eat the smooth skin".

Fallout New Vegas vanilla my favorite companion is ED-E because he's an eyebot and I have a soft spot for robots.
Fallout New Vegas modded my favorite companion would be Niner because he's funny and offers me useful items when we're wandering.
Fallout New Vegas dlc my favorite is Dog/God. I don't actually know why I like him/them I just kinda do.
Fallout 3 vanilla my favorite companion is Dog Meat because every other companion seems to give you shit for doing something "right" or "wrong" In the end It's usually me dogmeat and Fawks anyways. Most of the companions demand too much from me and don't bring enough to the table.
